However, on a quarter-on-quarter basis, net profit declined marginally by 4% to ₹43.9 crore from ₹45.7 crore in the same period last year. Operating EBITDA stood at ₹53.5 crore with margins at 50.3%, which came sharply lower compared to 64.2% in Q1 FY26, reflecting increased content investments.
The board of Tips Music deferred the proposal for the buyback of fully paid-up equity shares at its meeting held on July 22, 2026. According to Live Mint, the said proposal will be considered and approved at the meeting of the board of directors scheduled to be held on August 5, 2026. This decision comes after the company's board had initially announced the buyback proposal alongside its Q1 FY27 results announcement. Chairman & Managing Director Kumar Taurani emphasized the company's commitment to enhancing shareholder value through this buyback proposal, stating that "Reinforcing our commitment to enhancing shareholder value, the company has called for a separate Board meeting to consider buy-back of shares."
During Q1 FY27, Tips Music released 73 songs, including 55 film songs and 18 non-film songs, with notable releases like "Chunnari Chunnari Let's Go" and "Tere Paas Main" receiving strong audience response. "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai" soundtrack generated strong engagement, crossing 186 million YouTube views, while "Chunnari Chunnari Let's Go" surpassed 70 million views. Songs from "Main Vaapas Aunga" also performed well, garnering nearly 100 million YouTube views, with the female version of "Tere Paas Main" witnessing strong traction on Spotify. Notably, "Tere Liye" from the film Prince featured among Spotify's Top 10 daily chart songs, reflecting the enduring popularity of Tips Music's catalogue alongside its new releases. The company's content investment increased significantly by 90% to ₹44.6 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹23.5 crore in Q1 FY26, underscoring its long-term strategy of expanding and enriching its music catalogue.
