Tiger Logistics (India) shares rose over 4% in intraday trade on Tuesday, 18 August, defying weak market sentiment. According to latest reports, the stock opened flat at ₹27.03 on the BSE but gained momentum amid buying interest, touching an intraday high of ₹28.13, representing a gain of ₹1.1 or 4.06% from the previous close. The stock later settled at ₹25.60 with a gain of 0.23%, with the company's market capitalization standing at ₹292.75 crore. The stock has been gaining for the last three days and has risen 7.64% in the period, outperforming the sector by 0.84% today.
In an exchange filing on 17 August, Tiger Logistics announced it had received a compounding order from the Reserve Bank of India's Foreign Exchange Department regarding a non-compliance issue under the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA). As reported by Mint, the RBI compounding order is related to non-compliance with provisions of FEMA Notification No. 120/RB-2004 dated 7 July 2004 concerning post-disinvestment valuation reporting requirement. The RBI passed the compounding order, resolving the contravention upon a payment of ₹59,981. The company has settled the violation by paying this compounding amount, with the matter now standing compounded.
The company stated that the matter stands compounded upon payment of the amount, and there is no material impact on the operations or other activities of the company, according to the exchange filing reported by Mint. A compounding order issued by the RBI is essentially an order through which the banking regulator settles an admitted violation of foreign-exchange rules by imposing a specified monetary amount. The company clarified that the financial impact is limited to the compounding amount of ₹59,981, with no broader operational consequences for the business.
The stock's performance comes amid challenging market conditions, with the 30-share BSE Sensex falling 278.32 points to 77,450.64 and the 50-share NSE Nifty dropping by 57.65 points to 24,230.45 in early trade. Despite this broader market weakness, driven by fresh rise in crude oil prices and rising tensions in West Asia, Tiger Logistics has managed to maintain its upward momentum. Technically, the stock is trading higher than the 5-day moving average but remains below the 20-day, 50-day, 100-day and 200-day moving averages. The stock hit its 52-week high of ₹56.74 on September 18, 2025 and its 52-week low of ₹22.87 on March 23, 2026.
According to latest reports, Tiger Logistics recently announced that it has secured two major air import contracts valued at approximately ₹8.8 crore from state-run energy major Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). This significant contract win demonstrates the company's continued business development activities despite the regulatory settlement.
