
Sundaram Home Finance announced plans to open 25 new Emerging Business (EB) branches in tier-3 and tier-4 towns across South India this year. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, these new branches will be established in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The company had previously crossed the milestone of 100 EB branches last year, demonstrating significant growth in its affordable housing finance segment. As reported by UNI, the EB segment comprises affordable housing finance and small-ticket loans, focusing on the growing demand for affordable housing in smaller towns across South India.
The company registered disbursements of ₹590 crore in the Emerging Business segment last year and is targeting disbursements of around ₹1,000 crore this year. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Sundaram Home Finance registered net profit of ₹282 crore on disbursements of ₹6,842 crores in FY26. The company's assets under management grew 14 per cent last year, reflecting strong business expansion. Commenting on the expansion, Company MD D. Lakshminarayanan stated that the company has grown steadily in the EB segment since its launch in October 2022 and believes the current expansion will take this segment into its next phase of growth.
As part of its expansion strategy, Sundaram Home Finance plans to hire around 300 people in the Emerging Business segment this year. According to the company's announcement, this will add to its existing 800 employees in this segment, scaling the total workforce to 1,100 employees in the EB segment. The EB segment comprises affordable housing finance and small-ticket loans, focusing on the growing demand for affordable housing in smaller towns across South India. As reported by UNI, the company currently has around 800 employees in the EB segment and plans to hire around 300 more this year.
