Sigma Advanced Systems Limited has secured multiple significant contracts totaling ₹1,087 crore across NATO and North American markets. In October 2026, the company bagged a $19.7 million (approximately ₹174 crore) contract from a North American NATO customer for 155mm components. This follows the major $104.9 million (approximately ₹1,013 crore) export order secured in July 2026 for 147,000 units of 155mm base bleed artillery shell bodies. The company also signed a 7-year long-term agreement with Rolls-Royce valued at £300 million (approximately ₹3,800 crore) for high-precision aerospace components, demonstrating its expansion beyond artillery ammunition into aerospace systems integration.
The latest contracts expand Sigma's capabilities across the 155 mm artillery ammunition manufacturing value chain, building on its existing capabilities in artillery shells and fuzes. As reported by CNBC TV18, base bleed units are specialized ammunition components designed to improve the aerodynamic performance of artillery projectiles and extend their effective range. These units are fitted at the rear of artillery shells and generate a controlled flow of gas during flight to reduce aerodynamic drag. The 155mm base bleed projectiles integrate aerodynamic gas generation to minimize base drag, making them crucial for long-range target engagement and modernizing artillery capabilities globally.
According to CNBC TV18, with capabilities spanning artillery shells, fuzes, base bleed units, and now aerospace components, the company aims to integrate key components of complete artillery rounds and high-precision systems. This approach is expected to reduce dependence on external suppliers, strengthen supply-chain control and enhance its ability to offer integrated ammunition solutions. The development aligns with Sigma's strategy of vertical integration and indigenous defense manufacturing under the government's Make in India initiative. The company's demonstrated capacity in high-precision energetics and shell body integration positions it as a key supplier amidst tight global artillery ammunition inventories.
Shares of Sigma Advanced Systems rose 4.99% to ₹820.30 on October 26, gaining ₹39 during the session following the contract announcement. The cumulative order momentum across North American export markets provides medium-term revenue visibility over 6 to 12 month execution windows. The company completed the 100% equity acquisition of UK-based Bromford Precision Solutions in July 2026, strengthening its global OEM partnerships and institutional intellectual property. CEO and executive director Sunil Kalidindi attributed the repeat orders to the trust earned through execution of previous programmes, stating that expanding capabilities would strengthen Sigma's position as a manufacturing partner for customers seeking integrated capabilities.
