Shiprocket shares surged 7% on Tuesday, September 8, reaching an early market high of ₹144.50 before retracing to trade 3.17% higher at ₹139.49 during the session. According to NSE data, the stock opened significantly higher at ₹135.21 at the previous close and extended gains to touch the record high. The stock has delivered nearly 49% returns to investors since its public listing on August 19, 2026, and has been trading over 5% higher in the last five market sessions. The strong market response reflects investor confidence in the company's operational improvements and growth trajectory, with the stock's market capitalisation reaching ₹10,072 crore as of Tuesday's trading session.
Shiprocket reported a narrower net loss of ₹13.71 crore for Q1FY27, compared to a loss of ₹18.03 crore in the year-ago period. The company achieved strong revenue growth with gross revenue rising 33.81% YoY to ₹592.08 crore from ₹442.4 crore. As per NSE filings, the pre-tax loss improved significantly, while the company also reported adjusted EBITDA surging 790% year-on-year to ₹8.90 crore with the adjusted EBITDA margin improving to 1.5% from 0.2% in Q1 FY26. Although the company's operational-level earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) remained negative, the surge in revenues resulted in adding key support to the profitability factor for the logistics solutions company. This marked the company's first quarterly result after its listing on August 19, 2026.
The company's emerging business segments demonstrated exceptional performance, with revenue from emerging business growing 70% YoY to ₹180.4 crore. According to NSE data, emerging business now accounts for 30% of total revenue in Q1 FY27, up from 24% a year ago. The core business revenue grew 22% YoY to ₹411.7 crore, while the emerging business segment grew 3.2 times faster than the core business. Tanmay Kumar, CFO of Shiprocket, noted that some of the invested lines like Ads barely existed two years ago, but this quarter Ads and Marketing Solutions grew around 193%, and Emerging as a whole grew 70%, lifting its contribution margin from 9.3% to 15.3%. The company's management attributed the healthy Q1 performance to the company's two growth engines, namely the performance of its core business and the emerging business in the period under review.
According to the official release, Shiprocket launched a new and improved RADAR platform during the June quarter, which includes an AI-powered courier intelligence platform, an AI Ads platform, and an appointment-based delivery system. This technological advancement is expected to further enhance the company's operational capabilities and service offerings to its merchant partners. The company operates as a new-age merchant-first and AI-driven technology platform, helping MSMEs operate their e-commerce business efficiently through services including logistics, checkout, payments, fulfillment, and cross-border trade.
Saahil Goel, Managing Director and CEO of Shiprocket, highlighted the company's strategic positioning in India's rapidly expanding e-commerce market. As reported by NSE data, Goel stated that India's e-commerce market is expected to more than double to $180-200 billion by 2030, with almost none of the merchants driving that growth building their own logistics, payments and growth stack. They will rent it, and that is what Shiprocket is building. The company's market capitalisation of ₹10,072 crore as of Tuesday's trading session reflects the strong investor confidence in this strategic positioning. The stock has shown significant volatility since listing, with shares reaching a record high of ₹156.90 on August 20, 2026, and touching a record low of ₹124 on August 28, 2026, according to exchange data.
