Senco Gold Ltd delivered robust second quarter results with consolidated revenue from operations growing 29% year-on-year in Q2 FY27, driven by festive demand and increasing preference for lightweight jewellery. According to the latest business update, the company's retail revenue rose 29% while same-store sales growth (SSSG) stood at 19% during the quarter. The strong performance was supported by favourable festive calendar covering Ratha Yatra, Rakhi, Janmashtami, Onam, Ganesh Chaturthi and Independence Day, along with mixed monsoon conditions. Gold prices remained volatile during the quarter, with domestic 24K gold prices increasing around 1.4% from ₹1.44 lakh per 10 grams at the beginning to ₹1.46 lakh per 10 grams at the end of Q2, while international gold prices rose around 3% from $4,031 per ounce to about $4,153 per ounce. As per the company's latest update, gold prices remained elevated and volatile, being almost 28% higher year-on-year, while sequentially there was insignificant change. The company's business continues to demonstrate strong resilience despite gold price volatility movements between ₹1,40,000 to ₹1,50,000 per 10 grams in line with Q1 existing prices.
For the first half of FY27, Senco Gold achieved significant milestones with total revenue growing 48% year-on-year, retail revenue increasing 40%, and SSSG at 30%. As reported by the company's latest business update, the firm achieved the highest-ever topline of over ₹5,000 crore in H1 FY27 and crossed the ₹10,000 crore sales mark on a trailing 12-month (TTM) basis. The company also crossed ₹50 billion in revenue during April-September 2026-27 and achieved trailing 12-month sales of over ₹100 billion. The company's old gold exchange accelerated to above 50% in Q2 following special campaigns and schemes, significantly improving affordability and demand conversion, though the company noted that a higher share of exchange-led sales could put slight pressure on margins.
E-commerce and digital channel sales grew 53% year-on-year, highlighting the continued potential of digital channels and improvement in digitally influenced sales. According to The Economic Times, the shift in the impact of Pitru Paksha to Q3 also supported Q2 sales, as only four days of the period fell in Q2 this year compared with 15 days last year. Meanwhile, coin and bullion sales remained in single digits and below 7%, indicating the company's strategic focus on jewellery over bullion products. The company launched six showrooms during Q2, comprising three company-owned and company-operated (COCO) stores and three franchisee stores, taking H1 additions to 14 and the total network to 215 showrooms. With a strong pipeline of both COCO and franchisee stores, Senco Gold expects to launch another 10–12 showrooms in H2, further strengthening its pan-India network.
Shares of Senco Gold rallied 12% to touch an intraday high of ₹358.8 on Thursday, October 8, following the strong quarterly results, as reported by ET Now. The buying interest came after the company posted its quarterly business update for Q2FY27, with the stock also gaining over 8% from the beginning of the year and climbing more than 3% in the past six months. Looking ahead, Senco Gold expects Q3 FY27 to see strong seasonal demand supported by wedding season and favourable festive calendar including Dhanteras, Diwali, Durga Puja, Karwa Chauth, Chhath Puja and Christmas. According to the company's latest business update, there were 1.35 crore weddings in calendar year 2026, which the firm noted is mostly price inelastic and provides a structural demand backdrop from wedding-led jewellery consumption. The company anticipates strong demand in October-December led by wedding season and expects demand in October-March to remain strong, supported by the festival season, improving rural sentiment and an estimated 13.5 million weddings in calendar year 2026.
