
Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a significant railway signalling project awarded by the East Coast Railway. According to the company's exchange filing, the contract is valued at ₹164.18 crore and involves the provision of MSDAC systems aimed at improving reliability in the automatic block signalling (ABS) section between MZY and KUR stations under the Khurda Road division. The project falls under the normal course of business for the organization and encompasses work across specific stations in the KUR division, including RJGR, JRZ, SSPR, DNKL, HND, and TLHD.
The domestic contract is scheduled for execution over a 18-month period and includes comprehensive signalling infrastructure improvements. The scope encompasses alterations in electronic interlocking systems across multiple stations, involving signalling systems supplied by established companies including Hitachi Rail STS India, Siemens Rail Automation (P) Ltd, and Medha Servo Drives. The MSDAC systems are specifically designed to increase reliability in the ABS section across the specified stations.
RVNL has clarified that the order has been awarded by a domestic entity and confirmed that neither the promoter group nor related parties have any interest in the awarding entity. The company stated that the contract does not fall under related-party transactions, ensuring complete compliance with regulatory requirements. According to CNBC TV18, shares of RVNL ended marginally lower on Wednesday, May 20, by 0.63% at ₹269.85 on the NSE following the announcement. The disclosure was made to the stock exchanges on May 20, 2026.
