RSWM delivered robust financial results for Q1 FY27, with standalone net profit surging 140.52% YoY to ₹16.74 crore compared to ₹6.96 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. According to the latest financial reports, consolidated net profit rose 134.77% to ₹19.65 crore from ₹8.37 crore in Q1 FY26. Revenue remained stable at ₹1,161.24 crore, showing a minor decline of approximately 0.70% YoY from ₹1,169.19 crore in Q1 FY26. The company's EBITDA improved significantly to ₹850 million with margins expanding to 7.32% from 5.94% in the previous year, while gross profit increased to ₹465.6 crore with gross margins improving to 39.80%, an expansion of 253 basis points year-on-year. The significant bottom-line growth was achieved despite revenue stability, highlighting the impact of disciplined cost management and robust margins in the yarn business.
The board of RSWM at its meeting held on 05 August 2026 has approved the establishment of a denim garment manufacturing facility through a joint venture arrangement. The company has partnered with NDS9 Private Limited for this strategic venture in the textile sector. As reported by Business Standard, this marks RSWM's entrance into global retail and finished apparel sourcing chains, representing a significant strategic shift from pure yarn and fabric manufacturing to capture higher-margin avenues. The Board had previously approved the incorporation of a joint venture, LNJ NDS9 Global Private Limited, for a denim garment manufacturing facility at a project cost of ₹186.30 crore. The strategic partnership with NDS9 Private Limited brings extensive design and sourcing networks spanning Barcelona, New York, and Hong Kong, helping RSWM minimize market placement risks and capture premium global fashion accounts.
RSWM has acquired 100% equity shareholding in LNJ GreenPET Private Limited for a total consideration of ₹20.01 crore, paid in cash. LNJ GreenPET is a greenfield project located on approximately 44 acres of land in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, aimed at manufacturing food-grade recycled PET chips and granules. Commercial production is expected to commence in Q1 FY28. To support this and other corporate purposes, the company proposes to raise ₹36.06 crore through the issuance of 24.70 lakh convertible warrants to the promoter group, LNJ Textiles Advisory LLP, at ₹146 per warrant. Additionally, RSWM is expanding its knitting operations with a ₹92 crore investment to upgrade machinery from Birla Advanced Knits Private Limited, aimed at enhancing production efficiency and scaling up knitted fabric capabilities, with completion expected by H1 FY27. The benefits from this upgrade are likely to reflect from Q3 FY27 onwards.
The yarn segment remained the primary profit driver, generating revenue of ₹992.94 crore and a pre-tax profit of ₹59.39 crore, up from ₹26.51 crore in Q1 FY26. This performance was supported by the company's focus on value-added products like 'Kapaas', a premium combed compact yarn. In contrast, the fabric segment recorded revenue of ₹283.42 crore but incurred a pre-tax loss of ₹0.50 crore, reversing a profit of ₹15.90 crore seen in the same period last year. The denim segment continues to face headwinds, while the newer knitted fabric unit is undergoing capacity upgrades. The total expenses declined by 2.17% on a standalone basis and 2.40% on a consolidated basis, contributing significantly to the margin expansion and demonstrating the company's ability to drive profitability through operational efficiency rather than top-line expansion.
RSWM's 65th Annual General Meeting is scheduled to be held on August 26, 2026, providing stakeholders an opportunity to review the company's strategic transformation. The company received ₹9.02 crore during the quarter from the allotment of convertible warrants to the promoter group, providing additional liquidity without immediate dilution. By successfully commercializing the new denim plant and expanding its knitting operations, RSWM is positioned to unlock multi-year valuation upside while shielding its core business from commodity volatility through forward integration with NDS9's international sourcing relationships. The significant 140% jump in standalone net profit combined with strategic value-accretive initiatives suggests robust underlying turnaround momentum, with the company's focus on high-margin yarn products and operational efficiency driving sustained profitability growth.
