Mumbai-based Ro Fund Management has officially launched the 'Ro Stars of India Fund', a SEBI-registered Category III Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) focused on generating high-alpha returns through a differentiated investment approach and disciplined risk management. According to reports from The Economic Times, the fund has already demonstrated strong early momentum by outperforming benchmark indices within its first month of operations. Rohit Aggarwal, Founder and Chief Investment Officer at Ro Fund Management, expressed his satisfaction with the launch, stating "After more than three decades of working in Indian equities, both in the US and here at home, I'm delighted to share that we have officially launched our AIF, the Ro Stars of India Fund." Aggarwal emphasized that the fund has been built to deliver consistent and high-quality alpha while maintaining disciplined risk controls.
The fund employs a concentrated flexi-cap strategy designed to capture opportunities across India's evolving growth landscape while avoiding the dilution often associated with broad-based generalist strategies. As reported by The Economic Times, the fund maintains a curated portfolio of 32 high-conviction stocks instead of relying solely on internal teams. The fund's distinguishing feature is its multi-advisor, multi-strategy framework, collaborating with specialist managers who each bring 15 to 20 years of expertise across specific market-cap segments. This approach is designed to capture opportunities across India's full economic growth spectrum while maintaining focused stock selection. The fund's equity exposure is currently tilted toward BFSI (19.29%) and Industrials/Capital Goods (19.23%).
The fund maintains a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.26, reflecting a preference for companies with relatively low leverage. According to The Economic Times, key holdings include Solar Industries India Ltd. (6.22%), Data Patterns (India) Ltd. (5.43%), and ICICI Prudential AMC Ltd. (5.15%). These holdings underscore the fund's focus on high-conviction "Make in India" businesses with strong operational efficiency and low debt levels. The current allocation to government securities and arbitrage strategies stands at 16.42%, which is intended to act as a counterbalance to equity drawdowns and help deliver a smoother long-term return profile. The fund's structure is built to deliver consistent and high-quality alpha while maintaining disciplined risk controls, with the company aiming to offer a comprehensive investment solution managing the complete investment lifecycle.
The fund's strong early performance reflects investor confidence in its carefully structured strategy and multi-advisor approach. As Indian markets transition into a valuation-conscious phase, the portfolio is strategically tilted toward businesses demonstrating operational efficiency and low leverage. Ro Fund Management positions itself as a comprehensive investment solutions platform, overseeing the complete investment lifecycle from asset allocation and specialist manager selection to rigorous stock monitoring and risk controls. The firm's holistic structure is designed to prioritize real growth creation over passive index tracking, with founder Rohit Aggarwal bringing more than 30 years of global investment expertise including senior leadership roles at Oppenheimer & Co. and RAS Capital in New York.
