
KEC International has demonstrated exceptional business momentum with over ₹6,300 crore in new orders secured across five major announcements since early May 2026. The latest addition on August 3 includes a ₹1,180 crore order featuring India's first-ever transmission line to power a data centre - a 400 kV project in Western India. This follows four consecutive announcements worth ₹1,063 crore, ₹1,303 crore, ₹1,754 crore, and ₹1,002 crore respectively, spanning transmission & distribution, civil construction, renewables, and cables & conductors. The company's year-to-date order intake now stands at over ₹6,300 crore, with MD & CEO Vimal Kejriwal framing the quarter as one of resilience amid global uncertainty.
RMC Switchgears has secured 12 letters of acceptance (LoAs) from Paschim Gujarat Vij Company (PGVCL) for turnkey underground cabling projects worth ₹333.79 crore. According to reports from Business Standard, the contracts involve comprehensive infrastructure development including site survey, designing, engineering, procurement, supply, installation, testing and commissioning for converting existing 11 kV high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) overhead power lines into underground cable networks with Ring Main Systems. The projects also include GIS/Geo Urja mapping and asset tagging under the System Improvement (SI) Scheme.
The orders cover various packages across Bhavnagar, Anjar, Jamnagar and Junagadh circles, including Chitra, Ghogha, Adipur, Talaja, Mahuva Rural, Dwarka and Talala subdivisions. As reported by Business Standard, the projects also include GIS/Geo Urja mapping and asset tagging under the System Improvement (SI) Scheme. The execution period for the projects ranges between 12 months and 18 months from the commencement date after a mobilisation period of 45 days, depending on the package.
The stock price responded positively to the contract announcements, with RMC Switchgears scrip jumping 15% to reach a high of ₹336.05 on the BSE, up from its previous closing price of ₹292.50. According to Business Standard, PGVCL is a domestic entity, and the contracts have been awarded on a turnkey basis. The company confirmed that the promoter, promoter group and group companies have no interest in the awarding entity, and the contracts do not fall under related-party transactions. RMC Switchgears is primarily engaged in the business of Switchgear Engineering and ECI contracts for power distribution/transmission sector. Meanwhile, KEC International's shares were trading near ₹475 with a market capitalization of around ₹12,638 crore, within a 52-week range of ₹938 to ₹460.
The company's latest financial results show mixed performance with revenue from operations declining 13.7% YoY from ₹165.66 crores in Q4FY25 to ₹142.94 crores in Q4FY26. However, revenue increased significantly by 285.9% QoQ from ₹37.04 crores in Q3FY26 to ₹142.94 crores in Q4FY26. Net profit decreased by 5.9% YoY from ₹9.85 crores in Q4FY25 to ₹9.27 crores in Q4FY26, but improved from a net loss of ₹7.07 crores in Q3FY26 to a net profit of ₹9.27 crores in Q4FY26. The company maintains strong financial metrics with a ROCE of 22.0% and ROE of 19.0%, while working capital requirements have improved from 74.9 days to 51.0 days.
