
Reliance Power reported a consolidated net loss of ₹494.00 crore in the quarter ended March 2026, marking a significant reversal from the net profit of ₹125.57 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The latest results show total income declined to ₹1,946.33 crore during the quarter under review from ₹2,065.64 crore in the year-ago period.
The company's sales declined 4.59% to ₹1,887.26 crore in Q4 FY26 compared to ₹1,978.01 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. As reported by Business Standard, the operating profit margin (OPM) deteriorated significantly to 30.54% in Q4 FY26 from 29.82% in Q4 FY25. Additionally, PBDT (Profit Before Depreciation and Tax) fell 42% to ₹161.30 crore from ₹278.56 crore year-on-year, indicating substantial operational challenges during the quarter.
For the complete financial year 2026, Reliance Power reported a net loss of ₹336.89 crore compared to a net profit of ₹2,947.83 crore in the previous financial year. According to Business Standard reports, the company's annual sales increased marginally by 0.49% to ₹7,619.71 crore in FY26 from ₹7,582.89 crore in FY25. The full-year PBDT showed a 47% increase to ₹1,065.92 crore from ₹726.54 crore in the previous year, demonstrating improved operational performance despite the quarterly challenges. However, total income dipped to ₹7,988.52 crore in FY26 from ₹8,257.04 crore in the previous fiscal year.
The company's board has approved significant fundraising proposals to strengthen its financial position. According to Business Standard, the board approved a proposal for raising funds up to ₹6,000 crore through the issuance of equity shares, equity-linked instruments and/or other eligible securities to qualified institutional buyers via a Qualified Institutions Placement and/or a follow-on-public offer or a combination of both. Additionally, the board approved a proposal for issuance of secured/unsecured, redeemable, nonconvertible debentures up to ₹3,000 crore, in one or more tranches/series, on a private placement basis or otherwise.
