However, this significant drop was primarily attributed to the year-ago quarter's exceptional performance, which included an exceptional profit of ₹5,307 crore from discontinued operations. Excluding this high base, the company's underlying business delivered a stronger performance, supported by double-digit revenue growth and improved operating margins.
The company demonstrated robust operational performance with revenue from operations rising 15.5% year-on-year to ₹605.6 crore from ₹524.3 crore, reflecting healthy business momentum during the quarter. EBITDA increased 37.4% to ₹77 crore from ₹56 crore in the corresponding period, indicating strong operational efficiency. The EBITDA margin improved to 12.8% in Q1 FY27 from 12.5% in the previous quarter, with the company benefiting from strong growth in the Aerospace & Defence and Precision Technology & Auto Components businesses.
The Aerospace & Defence business reported revenue of ₹123 crore in Q1 FY27, up 40.4% from ₹87 crore in Q1 FY26, with EBITDA increasing 25.4% to ₹26 crore from ₹21 crore. As reported by CNBC TV18, the segment's EBITDA margin stood at 21.2% in Q1 FY27 compared with 23.7% in the year-ago period, with margin movement attributed to targeted research and development investments. The business benefited from increased production for leading global original equipment manufacturers and expansion of its product portfolio. The Precision Technology & Auto Components division generated revenue of ₹444 crore, rising 11.5% from ₹398 crore in Q1 FY26, with EBITDA growing 45.5% year-on-year to ₹61 crore from ₹42 crore.
According to CNBC TV18, the Precision Technology & Auto Components segment saw healthy growth in exports of critical components for the hybrid sector, ensuring operational momentum across the group. The company maintained growth momentum through export business expansion despite geopolitical headwinds, pursuing opportunities across new global markets and industrial sectors while leveraging China Plus One opportunities. Raymond said integration synergies and operational efficiencies are supporting business momentum across domestic and global markets. The company's Precision Technology & Auto Components EBITDA margin improved to 13.8% from 10.6% in the corresponding period, supported by volume growth, improved product mix, enhanced operating leverage and targeted cost reduction initiatives.
