Ramco Systems has signed a memorandum of understanding with Safran Helicopter Engines, the world's leading manufacturer of rotorcraft turbines, to enable seamless integration of Safran's engine data with Ramco Aviation Software. According to reports from Business Standard, this collaboration is aimed at reducing the manual work helicopter operators currently need to do when updating engine information after maintenance and shop visits. Under the MoU, information from Safran engines will flow directly into the Maintenance Information System within Ramco Aviation Software, allowing operators to focus more on keeping aircraft in service.
The integration will include engine configuration, usage data and maintenance events, improving the accuracy and consistency of information used by operators to manage aircraft maintenance and airworthiness. As reported by Business Standard, the collaboration will work on enabling engine configuration, usage metrics, and maintenance events to be automatically ingested into Ramco Aviation Software. At present, engine information following a shop visit may have to be entered or updated manually in an operator's maintenance system, but this partnership will eliminate that manual data entry requirement.
The collaboration will establish processes to enable a reliable, continuous two-way flow of information between the systems. According to Business Standard, the integration will work in both directions - Safran will be able to receive richer engine-maintenance information, while operators will receive information from the engine manufacturer directly in their systems. This could mean less time spent entering and reconciling engine data and more accurate information for deciding when aircraft and engines need maintenance.
The collaboration is expected to lead to Ramco receiving Safran's EngineLife Connect label, which identifies connectivity solutions compatible with Safran's products and services. As reported by Business Standard, the outcome of this collaboration will be the award by Safran Helicopter Engines of the EngineLife Connect label, which identifies the best connectivity solutions compatible with its range of products and services. Ramco said its aviation software is used by more than 24,000 users to manage over 4,000 aircraft across more than 90 aviation organisations globally.
