Radisson Hotel Group announced the signing of 10 new hotels in India within the second week of July, significantly expanding its footprint across the country. According to latest reports, the signings span six brands including Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Inn by Radisson, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson, Radisson Individuals Premier, and Radisson Individuals Retreats. This strategic expansion strengthens the group's growth trajectory in India, reflecting the company's focus on both greenfield developments and conversion opportunities across business, leisure, pilgrimage, and wildlife destinations. As reported by Business Standard, the announcement on Monday includes greenfield projects, resorts and conversion projects across seven states. As reported by Radisson Hotel Group, the expansion reflects its strategy of expanding through a mix of new developments and conversion projects while increasing presence in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. "These 10 signings reflect a deliberate strategy: layering our upscale brands into high-barrier gateway markets while using asset-light, franchise-led models to scale quickly into underserved tier-2 and tier-3 cities. It's this dual approach for us, depth in the metros, breadth in the emerging markets that continues to set our India growth apart," said Nikhil Sharma, Managing Director & COO, South Asia at Radisson Hotel Group.
The new signings add hotels across seven states with particular focus on major pilgrimage and temple-town markets. The latest additions include Radisson Hotel Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh with 115 rooms, Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Mathura Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh with 87 rooms, and Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Kadapa Airport in Andhra Pradesh offering 45 rooms. These properties are specifically aimed at serving demand from pilgrims visiting major temple destinations, with religious tourism continuing to emerge as one of India's fastest-growing travel segments. The expansion also includes Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Nainital in Uttarakhand and Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Kalaburagi in Karnataka, demonstrating the group's strategy of expanding into underserved tier-2 and tier-3 cities. As reported by Business Standard, the group announced its entry into four markets with two signings in Andhra Pradesh — Radisson Hotel Tirupati and Park Inn & Suites at Kadapa Airport — along with Park Inn & Suites in Mathura Vrindavan. As reported by Radisson Hotel Group, India's pilgrimage economy remains one of the country's fastest growing and most underpenetrated hospitality segments, with these signings adding branded supply across four major pilgrimage and temple-town markets.
The recent signings include several properties in Bengaluru, India's technology capital, including Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Bengaluru with 150 rooms, Park Inn by Radisson Electronic City featuring 112 rooms, and Lavish Hotel Bengaluru, a member of Radisson Individuals Premier, offering 113 rooms. According to Business Standard, with these additions, the hospitality group hopes to cater to sustained corporate and information technology-led meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), along with the staycation and weekend getaway segments. The group also plans to add more hotels to its current portfolio of 7 operational properties and a pipeline of 5 hotels in Bengaluru (619 keys), with the recent signings well positioned to serve sustained corporate and IT-led MICE & travel demand as well as staycations & weekend getaway segments. "Behind these 10 signings is a strong pipeline of partnerships built over the past several months. What makes this portfolio particularly noteworthy is its diversity, ranging from greenfield developments and resort projects to conversion opportunities and hotels in emerging pilgrimage and wildlife destinations," said Davashish Srivastava, Vice President – Development, South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group.
The latest expansion strengthens Radisson Hotel Group's upper upscale resort portfolio with new signings including Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Sawai in Rajasthan with 200 rooms, catering to India's growing wildlife and luxury leisure tourism segment, and Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Vadodara in Gujarat with 155 rooms, supporting both business and MICE demand in the region. The group is also expanding into India's wildlife and nature tourism circuit with Jungle Home Resort Tadoba, a member of Radisson Individuals Retreats located near the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra, marking the group's first internationally branded hotel in the area and approximately 120 km south of Nagpur. These signings demonstrate the group's focus on expanding into underserved tier-2 and tier-3 cities while maintaining presence in metropolitan markets. The expansion also includes Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Nainital in Uttarakhand (45 rooms), becoming the Group's second hotel in the popular Himalayan hill-station market, and Park Inn & Suites by Radisson Kalaburagi in Karnataka (55 rooms), extending the brand into North Karnataka's emerging heritage and industrial corridor.
