Auditing and consulting major PwC US and PwC India have signed a joint venture that will integrate PwC India's Consulting business with PwC US Advisory's India-based capabilities into a single platform for global clients. According to Business Standard, the joint venture is jointly owned and governed by both firms, aiming to position PwC India as a global consulting hub to better compete against the Big Four and consulting majors. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, with the transaction expected to close in the first half of calendar year 2027, subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Until then, PwC US and PwC India will continue serving clients through their existing structures.
The joint venture combines PwC India's deep expertise in cybersecurity, risk, business transformation, and OT Security with PwC US's advisory capabilities. As reported by Mint, this integration is designed to help organisations enhance resilience, strengthen visibility across connected assets, and respond to a rapidly evolving threat landscape. Paul Griggs, senior partner and CEO at PwC US, emphasized that the combination brings the full breadth of advisory talent together, stating that "the firms that win will be the ones that stop thinking about markets, capabilities, and delivery as separate pieces." The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to helping businesses navigate evolving security challenges while enabling innovation, operational continuity, and sustainable growth.
The proposed platform will bring together PwC India's consulting business and PwC US Advisory's India-based operations to serve clients globally. According to the latest announcement, the deal is designed to combine client relationships, industry expertise and delivery capabilities rather than simply adding capacity in either market. The service portfolio will span strategy and transformation, technology, engineering and artificial intelligence, as AI increasingly reshapes the way businesses operate and professional services are delivered. The venture will also bring together managed services at a larger scale, allowing PwC to advise clients as well as operate critical parts of their businesses. The service expansion is expected to strengthen support for US-headquartered companies operating Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India, while improving the firm's ability to serve clients across major international trade corridors.
Sanjeev Krishan, chairperson of PwC India and the incoming CEO of the new JV, described this as a testimony to PwC India's growth journey over the last five years and position of strength in the network. According to Mint, he noted that PwC India now has an opportunity to play a greater role in the success of the global network. Paul Griggs added that the joint venture advances PwC's broader ambition to build a more globally integrated consulting model, giving PwC firms around the world greater access to the combined talent and expertise of the new platform. The operational shift comes as rapid advances in artificial intelligence disrupt the consulting sector, forcing firms to review their services, billing, and hiring practices. The venture comes as India gains importance for global companies as a growing market, a hub for GCCs and a source of talent and innovation.
As industries across manufacturing, energy, utilities, healthcare, and critical infrastructure continue to embrace digital transformation, the convergence of IT and OT environments has significantly expanded the cyber threat landscape. Connected devices, industrial control systems (ICS), and IoT deployments have become prime targets for sophisticated cyberattacks, with the potential to disrupt operations, compromise safety, and cause significant financial and reputational damage. Eddie Stefanescu, General Manager of APJ at Claroty, noted that for cyber attackers seeking to cause real-world damage by disrupting the availability of essential services in India, OT systems are becoming increasingly desirable targets while simultaneously becoming more connected and exposed to cyber threats. Together, Claroty and PwC India are committed to delivering purpose-built solutions for the manufacturing, healthcare, and commercial organisations that the general population relies on every day.
