PTC Industries Limited has officially disclosed receiving a prestigious order from the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), a key centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), under Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Obligations. According to the company's regulatory filing announced on Wednesday, January 7, the order involves the conversion of 40 tonnes of Grade 1 titanium sponge into Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy ingots using the Double Vacuum Arc Remelting (Double VAR) process. The contract is scheduled for execution over a one-year period and has been formally notified to both NSE and BSE through proper regulatory channels, with the disclosure signed by Company Secretary and Compliance Officer Pragati Gupta Agrawal.
The Double Vacuum Arc Remelting (Double VAR) process represents a critical secondary melting technique where titanium electrodes are remelted under high vacuum using an electric arc, enabling precise control over chemistry, solidification, and cleanliness. As reported by PTC Industries, this advanced process ensures high chemical uniformity, superior metallurgical cleanliness and stronger mechanical performance, eliminating inclusions, dissolved gases, and segregation that could adversely affect performance in mission-critical applications. The use of Grade 1 titanium sponge as the starting material helps maintain very low interstitial content, essential for space-grade titanium alloys, resulting in extremely high chemical homogeneity and enhanced fatigue strength and fracture toughness.
Building on its technological capabilities, PTC Industries has established strategic partnerships with prestigious global aerospace companies including BAE Systems, Safran AE, Bharat Dynamics, and Mishra Dhatu Nigam. According to company reports, PTC is the first company from India that will manufacture and export critical cast components for aircraft and aero engines, positioning itself as a dependable supplier to the defence and aerospace sector worldwide. The company's wholly-owned subsidiary Aerolloy Technologies achieved a significant milestone by receiving approval from Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) for the supply of cast components, marking IAI's first engagement in sourcing cast components from India. Additionally, PTC Industries was honored to participate in the historic Chandrayaan 3 mission by ISRO with the supply of the Pump Interstage Housing.
PTC Industries has demonstrated exceptional financial performance with the latest Q1FY26 results showing total income of ₹1,077.1 million, representing a robust growth of 113.2% YoY from ₹505.2 million in the previous year. EBITDA stood at ₹193.5 million, up 41.3% YoY with an EBITDA margin of 18.0%, while Profit After Tax reached ₹51.6 million, showing 5.3% YoY growth. The company's H1FY25 performance was equally impressive with total income of ₹1,313.1 million and EBITDA of ₹433.5 million, demonstrating consistent growth momentum. According to recent quarterly data, PTC Industries reported Q2FY25 total income of ₹807.9 million, representing 34.0% YoY growth, with EBITDA of ₹296.6 million showing 60.8% YoY growth and an EBITDA margin of 36.7%.
PTC Industries is making significant investments in cutting-edge core manufacturing technologies available to very few players globally, creating huge capability to supply for both domestic and international markets. The company has been allotted 20 hectares of land by UPEIDA at the Lucknow node of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor to establish fully integrated material manufacturing capabilities for all exotic materials, including Titanium, Cobalt, and Nickel Superalloys. The project will be developed in three phases with a total peak manufacturing capacity of 5,000 tonnes per annum, featuring state-of-the-art equipment including a Vacuum Arc Remelter that has already been procured. According to company management, during Q1FY26, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Safran Aircraft Engines for military aircraft engine components and participated in the Paris Air Show 2025, with multiple advanced discussions expected to translate into new alliances and agreements.
