Power Mech Projects Ltd announced on Saturday, June 20, that it has secured a ₹1,089 crore order, inclusive of GST, from JSW Thermal Energy Ltd for a thermal power project in West Bengal. According to the company's filing, the contract involves civil and structural works in the Boiler, Turbine and Generator (BTG) area for a 2x800 MW thermal power project at Salboni. The project is scheduled to be executed within 36 months from the effective date or commencement of work, as applicable. This win is classified as a non-related party transaction, strengthening Power Mech's presence in large-scale thermal power infrastructure and reinforcing its relationship with major private-sector utilities. The company has clarified that neither its promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in JSW Thermal Energy Limited, ensuring the contract does not fall under related-party transactions.
This latest win follows Power Mech's earlier contract announcements, including a ₹266.26 crore order from Adani Infrastructure Management Services Ltd on June 3 for operations and maintenance services at a 2x300 MW thermal power plant at Butibori in Maharashtra. Earlier in April, the company secured a ₹296 crore order from Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd for the Mumbai Monorail project, which included operations and maintenance of the 19.54 km corridor with 17 stations for five years. The company's diversified portfolio across thermal power, metro operations, and infrastructure maintenance services demonstrates its strong market position in India's industrial construction sector. Additionally, Power Mech received a contract from South Western Railway, Bengaluru, which is scheduled to be executed within 30 months.
Power Mech Projects delivered robust financial results for Q4 FY26, with consolidated net profit surging 21.6% to ₹142.55 crore compared to ₹117.24 crore in Q4 FY25. Revenue from operations showed impressive growth of 13.89% year-on-year to ₹2,110.73 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. As per Business Standard, Power Mech Projects operates as an engineering and construction company providing integrated services including erection, testing and commissioning (ETC) of boilers, turbines and generators; balance of plant (BOP); civil works; and operation and maintenance (O&M) services across power, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
Power Mech shares have shown strong momentum following the contract announcement, with the stock rallying 5% after securing the major order win. According to latest market data, the company's market capitalisation stands at ₹8,980.61 crore. The stock has demonstrated consistent upward movement, advancing 1.7%, 7.2%, and 4% over the past three weeks respectively, extending its winning streak for a third consecutive week. From a technical perspective, the stock continues to exhibit strong momentum with its 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) at 66.4, approaching the overbought zone but still below the key threshold of 70. Additionally, Power Mech Projects is trading above all eight of its tracked simple moving averages (SMAs), indicating a firmly bullish trend. The sizeable order is expected to provide strong revenue visibility over the next three years, with investors cheering the announcement as it strengthens the company's order book and reinforces its position in India's power infrastructure and EPC segment.
