Poonawalla Fincorp Limited announced the launch of a next-generation conversational AI platform for omnichannel customer service on Monday, marking its most significant technology push yet. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the Pune-based non-banking finance company is accelerating an AI-first strategy across its operations with this platform launch. The platform serves as a core driver of growth and represents a pivotal step in the company's digital evolution, enabling seamless customer experiences while allowing human teams to focus on high-empathy or complex cases.
The AI platform is designed to autonomously handle up to 80% of voice and chat interactions, routing complex or sensitive cases to human agents. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the platform operates on multi-agent AI orchestration and includes real-time data such as customer history, loan risk indicators and sentiment analysis. The system utilizes multi-agent AI orchestration to provide real-time insights, including customer history, sentiment analysis, and loan risk flags, leading to faster resolutions and improved compliance. The company described these capabilities as an industry first in terms of contextual interface design.
The stock traded at ₹409.15 on the NSE Monday morning, down 1.11% from its previous close of ₹413.75, according to The Hindu BusinessLine. The broader market has seen NIFTY 500 gain 7.23% over the past month compared to PFL's 3.95% gain. The scrip has shed over 15% year-to-date, though it remains one of the stronger five-year performers in its segment with returns of 243%.
Managing Director and CEO Arvind Kapil stated that the AI platform represents a structural shift rather than an isolated initiative, with the technology being embedded across credit underwriting, risk management and employee productivity. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the company's AI programme now spans 57 initiatives across risk, credit, compliance, HR and operations, with 41 already deployed. The expanded AI ecosystem includes specialized initiatives such as Autonomous Testing Agent for AI-led API testing, Agentic Process Automation for intelligent business process optimization, and DIY Bot Creation Tool for low-code chatbot development. These efforts complement previously launched tools including Ask-Ed, Sec Assist, Taxation Bot and BL Buddy, which are already contributing to enhanced productivity and sharper decision-making across the company.
