Beauty and fashion retail platform Nykaa announced the appointment of Ankit Jain to lead its quick-commerce vertical, Nykaa Now. According to reports from Business Standard, Jain has nearly two decades of experience in strategic and operational roles at companies including Unilever, Flipkart and Swiggy Instamart. The appointment comes nearly a month after Jain resigned as chief operating officer of Swiggy Instamart. As reported by Nykaa, Jain's appointment underscores the company's continued investment in rapid delivery capabilities. Jain, who joined the company in May 2025 and was a senior vice president at ecommerce marketplace Flipkart prior to that, heading its grocery business, brings extensive experience in scaling complex supply-chain and quick commerce operations.
At Nykaa Now, Jain will work to strengthen the company's fulfilment capabilities and supply-chain infrastructure. As reported by Business Standard, he will lead the platform's expansion across key markets while using artificial intelligence-led demand forecasting and logistics innovation to build a resilient, technology-enabled fulfilment network. Nykaa Now currently offers products from more than 1,000 brands across luxury, fast-moving consumer goods and direct-to-consumer categories, with the service expanded to 13 cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata. According to Nykaa, Jain expressed excitement about joining the company at a pivotal stage of its growth journey, looking forward to building resilient, data-driven operations that enable greater speed, reliability and efficiency across the fulfilment network.
According to Business Standard, Nykaa has outlined a bold roadmap to significantly expand its quick-commerce services. The company aims to scale its 30-minute beauty delivery offering to all high-demand pockets in the country by FY30. The strategy will be supported by Nykaa Next Day, under which the company aims to deliver 90 per cent of orders across India either on the same day or the following day. Additionally, Nykaa Express will leverage the company's network of 320+ retail stores to enable hyperlocal deliveries to customers living near its outlets, with orders expected to be delivered within two to three hours. As reported by Nykaa, the service promises deliveries within 30 to 60 minutes across major cities, supported by technology integration and consumer adoption. During the fourth quarter earnings call, Nykaa Now was reported to have 75-80 rapid stores - micro-warehouses from where 30-minute to two-hour deliveries are made - in the top seven metros, which allows the company to cover 80-90% of the relevant pincodes in these metros.
As reported by Business Standard, Nykaa Now promises deliveries within 30 to 60 minutes across major cities. Jain, a President's Gold Medal recipient and graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, has experience across factory operations, innovation and technology, logistics and warehousing, and end-to-end supply-chain planning. According to Nykaa, Anchit Nayar, executive director and chief executive officer of Nykaa Beauty, emphasized that customers increasingly expected speed and choice as beauty commerce evolved. Nayar highlighted that Nykaa is building a differentiated fulfilment ecosystem powered by technology, AI and deep execution excellence, with Jain's experience in scaling complex supply-chain and q-commerce operations making him uniquely positioned to help strengthen the network and accelerate Nykaa Now. This initiative underscores the rising emphasis on vertical quick commerce across various sectors, including fashion and home services, as the company positions itself to compete in the growing quick-commerce market.
