NIBE Limited successfully demonstrated its Garudastra 120mm vehicle-mounted mortar and bomb system to the Indian Army on June 17, 2026, at the Infantry School, Mhow. According to the company's regulatory filing, the demonstration was conducted on an NC-NC basis in technical collaboration with a foreign OEM. The system showcased rapid shoot-and-scoot operations, high rate of fire, Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact (MRSI), and precision engagement using guided munitions with GPS and laser guidance. As per the company's press release, the demonstration commenced with a tactical Shoot & Scoot mission, with the system occupying a temporary firing position and coming into action under 30 seconds.
The Garudastra system demonstrated exceptional operational capabilities during the demonstration. The system subsequently fired 12 rounds in 60 seconds while maintaining high accuracy, with a two-member crew launching the rounds in just 60 seconds. The system then vacated the location within 15 seconds to evade simulated counter-battery fire before relocating to its main firing position. The highlight of the demonstration was the successful firing of a GPS- and laser-guided precision munition with a range of up to 10 km, fired from long distance and scoring a direct hit on a 3 m × 3 m target. The system further showcased its Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact (MRSI) capability by firing three rounds along different trajectories and flight times, enabling all three to strike the target simultaneously.
NIBE shares have delivered significant returns in recent trading sessions, ending each of the last two months in positive territory with a cumulative gain of 77%.
