State-run construction major NBCC (India) Limited is in the final stages of delivering stalled Amrapali housing projects, offering relief to thousands of homebuyers. According to reports from ET Now, Chairman and Managing Director K P Mahadevaswami revealed that 23 out of 24 Amrapali projects have been completed, with the remaining project scheduled for completion by June 2026. On other stressed projects, the company has approached the Supreme Court for exemption from RERA norms for Supertech projects to fast-track resolution.
The company maintains a robust financial position with order book standing at ₹1.26 lakh crore. As reported by ET Now, Mahadevaswami projected topline of around ₹13,000 crore and PAT in the range of ₹700–800 crore in FY26. For FY27, the company expects topline to reach ₹18,000 crore with PAT at around ₹1,000–1,200 crore. The company has set ambitious long-term targets, aiming to achieve topline of ₹25,000 crore with PAT in the range of ₹4,000–5,000 crore over the next four years. Additionally, the order book size is likely to cross ₹4 lakh crore over the next five years.
Redevelopment projects are emerging as a key pillar for NBCC's expansion strategy. According to ET Now, Mahadevaswami announced that tenders for redevelopment projects will be invited from April 2026, with redevelopment projects identified as a key growth driver. The company is actively exploring redevelopment opportunities with major public sector units, having already signed agreements with BHEL, BSNL and MTNL for asset monetisation projects and being in discussions with various PSUs. NBCC is also in discussions with SAIL and HMT to redevelop their land banks.
The company is witnessing strong demand from state governments for redevelopment work across multiple states. As reported by ET Now, NBCC is receiving government redevelopment projects from states such as Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rajasthan. Additionally, the company is working on major port-related redevelopment projects, being in the process of appointing a consultant for the redevelopment of land parcels of Mumbai Port Trust and AP Port Trust. Internationally, NBCC has delivered housing projects in the Maldives and expects significant redevelopment orders in the Middle East in the post-war scenario, while also securing redevelopment projects in Australia and Seychelles. The company aims to increase the share of overseas business to 15 per cent over the next few years.
Interestingly, NBCC is being approached by private developers for completing their stalled housing projects, signalling growing confidence in the company's execution capabilities. According to ET Now, the real estate business will remain a key growth driver for NBCC, though the company has no plans to set up a subsidiary for this business. Despite geopolitical tensions, the company remains optimistic about its Dubai real estate project, stating there will be no impact on the Dubai real estate project due to the ongoing war. The company emphasizes that real estate will continue to be central to its growth strategy while exploring diversification opportunities in asset monetisation and redevelopment projects.
