Muthoot Finance delivered exceptional fourth-quarter results with consolidated net profit surging 135% year-on-year to ₹3,397 crore for Q4 FY26, compared to ₹1,444 crore in the corresponding period last year. According to latest reports, the company's revenue rose 65% to ₹9,288.7 crore compared with ₹5,621.7 crore a year earlier. The strong performance was primarily driven by robust growth in the company's core gold loan business amid soaring gold prices that boosted collateral values and borrowing capacity. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) climbed 90.5% to ₹7,760 crore during the quarter from ₹4,072.5 crore in the year-ago period.
The company's total loan assets under management (AUM) reached a record ₹1,81,916 crore as of March 31, 2026, representing significant growth from ₹1,47,552 crore in the December quarter and ₹1,08,648 crore a year earlier. This translates to 49% year-on-year growth and substantial expansion. The gold loan AUM specifically rose to ₹1,54,084 crore, up from ₹1,39,658 crore in the preceding quarter and ₹1,02,956 crore in the year-ago period, reflecting 54% annual growth and an 11% quarter-on-quarter rise. The company also added 177 new branches at the group level during the quarter, expanding its network across India.
For the full financial year FY26, Muthoot Finance posted its highest-ever consolidated profit after tax at ₹10,607 crore, up 98% from ₹5,352 crore in FY25. The company's strong performance was supported by its diversified lending portfolio beyond gold loans, including affordable housing finance, microfinance, personal loans and small business lending. As reported by CNBC TV18, the company continues to step up digital initiatives across the organisation while maintaining its focus on the gold loan segment that drives the majority of its business.
George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director, highlighted the company's continued benefits from strong customer trust and favourable industry trends. He stated that "this year, more Indians used their gold to build their lives, more institutions backed our balance sheet, and the regulator provided the industry with a clearer foundation for growth." George Jacob Muthoot, Chairman, expects FY27 to be another year of disciplined growth and transformation, noting that the new gold loan guidelines would strengthen transparency, governance and customer confidence, accelerating the formalisation of the gold loan sector. Ahead of the earnings announcement, Muthoot Finance shares closed 0.70% higher at ₹3,531 apiece, with the stock having gained 55% over the past year and more than 232% in the last three years, reflecting strong investor confidence in the company's growth trajectory.
