CNG prices in Mumbai have been increased by ₹2 per kg to ₹84 per kg, with the revised rates coming into effect from May 26. The latest revision marks the fourth hike in under two weeks amid rising global energy prices, as reported by multiple sources.
The price increase represents a 2.4% rise from the previous rate of ₹82 per kg, as reported by NDTV Profit. The hike comes as part of ongoing fuel cost adjustments across major Indian cities, with Mumbai joining other metropolitan areas in implementing the revised pricing structure. The latest revision is expected to directly impact daily commuters, cab operators and commercial vehicle owners who rely heavily on CNG as a primary transport fuel source.

Delhi's CNG prices have also risen by ₹2/kg from 6 am on Tuesday, taking the rate to ₹83.09/kg, according to latest reports. Meanwhile, petrol prices in Delhi remain at ₹102.12 per litre while diesel continues at ₹95.20 per litre.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman addressed the fuel price situation, stating that reducing excise duties on petrol and diesel would result in a revenue loss of nearly ₹1 lakh crore, according to Wion. She urged citizens to focus on the 'three Fs' - fuel, fertiliser and forex and stressed the importance of maintaining confidence amid global uncertainty. Sitharaman also asserted that India's economy remains resilient despite ongoing geopolitical and economic challenges.
