Auto components maker Motherson Sumi Wiring India Ltd reported a 1.4% rise in fourth-quarter net profit at ₹167 crore, compared with ₹165 crore in the year-ago period, according to reports from CNBC TV18. The company achieved its best-ever quarterly and full-year performance, crossing ₹10,000 crore in annual revenue for the first time. Revenue for the quarter rose 32.9% to ₹3,334.6 crore from ₹2,509.5 crore a year earlier, while EBITDA increased 1% to ₹274 crore in the March quarter, compared with ₹271 crore in the corresponding period last year. Despite the strong topline growth, profitability remained under pressure with limited EBITDA growth.
Despite revenue growth, EBITDA margin declined sharply to 8.2% from 10.8% a year ago, as reported by CNBC TV18. The company attributed this margin pressure to elevated copper prices and time lag in customer settlements, which are affecting profitability in the near term. The sharp drop in margins will be a key concern for investors, as it signals pressure on operational efficiency despite higher sales volumes and improved order execution. Motherson Sumi Wiring has maintained its debt-free status since inception, providing financial flexibility during market volatility.
The company strengthened its position by supplying wiring harnesses to nine of the top 10 best-selling passenger vehicle models in India, according to CNBC TV18. Electric vehicle revenue contribution stood at 8.6% in the March quarter and 6.6% for FY26. Chairman Vivek Chaand Sehgal highlighted that greenfield investments are progressing well and will further strengthen the company's long-term growth trajectory.
Motherson Sumi Wiring has recommended a final dividend of ₹0.58 per equity share of face value ₹1 each for FY26, subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming annual general meeting, as reported by CNBC TV18. However, shares ended at ₹39.26, down by ₹1.86, or 4.52% on the BSE following the results announcement. The limited growth in EBITDA and net profit despite strong revenue momentum suggests that higher expenses weighed on overall profitability.
