Mastek (UK) Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mastek Limited, has secured a significant five-year engineering, integration and product development contract with the UK Home Office. According to reports from CNBC TV18, the contract has an overall budget of around £49 million ($67 million-plus) and was announced on February 27, 2026. The comprehensive five-year agreement positions the company as a key technology partner for critical government infrastructure development, with the contract covering development of biometrics applications along with comprehensive engineering and integration services.
The engagement covers the provision of managed specialist engineering and cloud platform services across the Home Office's biometrics portfolio, supporting areas including policing, forensics, justice, migration and borders policy. As reported by CNBC TV18, under the Home Office Biometrics Application Development and Environment Service (HADES) 2026 programme, Mastek will support, maintain and enhance the department's Biometrics Services Gateway and National DNA Database systems. The contract covers multiple critical biometrics systems serving various government functions, including Passports, Visa, Study and Asylum routes, DNA Search and Match Caseworking, and enforcement operations.
These platforms underpin services such as passports, visas, study and asylum routes, DNA search and match casework, and enforcement operations. According to the report, the contract includes two optional extension years and is aimed at enabling the Home Office biometrics programme to deliver biometrics-related services to users within the department and policing, as well as more widely across the UK government and with international partners. The service aims to enable the Home Office Biometrics Programme in delivering biometrics-related services to users across the Home Office, Policing, and wider UK Government, including international partners.
Mastek expects the engagement to expand as the department undertakes significant and complex upgrades to the Biometrics Services Gateway and National DNA Database systems in the coming years. Abhishek Singh, President UKI and Europe at Mastek, stated that the award strengthens the company's partnership with the Home Office and reflects confidence in its expertise in biometrics integration systems, DNA search and match technologies, and advanced engineering capabilities. The five-year contract duration provides Mastek with long-term revenue visibility and establishes a sustained partnership with one of the UK's key government departments, strengthening the company's position as a trusted technology partner for critical government applications requiring high security and reliability standards.
