Maruti Suzuki India has achieved its highest-ever monthly production of 248,845 units in July 2026, representing a significant 33% increase compared to 187,073 units produced in July 2025, according to a regulatory filing by the company. This performance surpasses the company's previous best monthly production of 231,933 units recorded in March 2026. The filing was submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited on August 1, 2026, by Sanjeev Grover, Executive Officer and Company Secretary. The data covers production figures for all vehicle categories manufactured by the company during the specified period, signaling robust operational momentum across all segments.
The car market leader has achieved a historic milestone by crossing 2 lakh units in domestic sales for the first time, recording 2,00,123 units in July 2026, compared to 1,40,570 units in July 2025, marking a substantial 42.36% year-on-year growth. This performance surpasses the company's previous best of 1,93,535 units recorded in May 2026. Total domestic sales, including light commercial vehicles, reached an all-time high of 2,00,123 units, with retail sales registering 178,000 units and dealer inventory remaining low at 16 days across the network, significantly below the industry average of 30 days. The company's total domestic sales, including supplies to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), stood at 2,11,365 units compared with 1,48,781 units in July 2025. Within the passenger vehicle portfolio, utility vehicles continued to be the biggest growth driver, with sales of models including the Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6 rising to 78,851 units in July, up from 52,773 units year earlier.
According to the regulatory filing, the company produced 13,964 units of S-Presso and Alto models, an increase from 11,484 units in the year-ago period. Compact models including Baleno, Celerio, and Swift saw production rise to 113,067 units, representing a 29% increase from 87,950 units in July 2025. Utility vehicles like Brezza, Ertiga, and Fronx recorded production of 102,787 units, up 46% from 70,241 units in the same month last year. The company also manufactured 14,627 units of Eeco van and 4,400 units of Super Carry LCV. Mini cars, comprising the Alto and S-Presso, registered the highest growth at 85.19% year-on-year to 12,634 units, while the compact and mid-size car portfolio grew 37.94% year-on-year to 90,822 units. Entry-level demand remained robust as sales of the Alto and S-Presso nearly doubled to 12,634 units, compared with 6,822 units in July 2025.
Utility vehicles including Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, XL6, Jimny, Invicto, Victoris and e Vitara recorded sales of 78,851 units, up 49.42% year-on-year from 52,773 units in July 2025. Passenger car sales, including models such as Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR, stood at 1,96,203 units during the month, up 42.41% year-on-year from 1,40,570 units a year earlier. Van sales, led by the Eeco, increased to 13,896 units in July 2026 from 12,341 units in July 2025. Sales to other original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) grew 36.91% year-on-year to 11,242 units from 8,211 units a year earlier, while exports declined 5.32% year-on-year to 30,056 units from 31,745 units in July 2025. Despite the export decline, Maruti Suzuki's overall volumes, including domestic PV, LCV and OEM sales, rose 33.73% year-on-year to 2,41,421 units during the month from 1,80,526 units in July 2025.
For the April-July period of financial year 2026-27, Maruti Suzuki's total sales stood at 9,24,145 units, compared with 7,08,387 units during the same period of the previous fiscal. Domestic sales, including passenger vehicles and LCVs, reached 7,34,930 units during the April-July period, while exports stood at 1,54,792 units. The company's total domestic sales, including OEM supplies, stood at 7,69,353 units during the first four months of FY27, demonstrating sustained momentum across all business segments. Within the passenger vehicle business, domestic sales rose to 1,96,203 units from 1,37,776 units in July 2025, with the compact and mid-size car segment, comprising models such as Baleno, Swift, Dzire and WagonR, remaining the company's largest contributor with sales of 90,822 units, up from 65,840 units a year ago. For the April-July period, Maruti Suzuki sold 734,930 units in the domestic market, including LCVs, up from 542,652 units in the corresponding period last year, with total sales, including exports, standing at 924,145 units compared with 708,387 units in the first four months of FY26.
