Marico has announced the launch of Parachute Advanced Protein Shampoo, marking the brand's entry into the hair cleansing category and deepening its presence in the hair care segment. The new product range builds on the brand's strong equity in haircare while bringing the proven goodness of coconut milk and natural ingredients into the hair cleansing format. The range is positioned around preventing protein loss in hair and combines coconut milk with natural ingredients to address consumer concerns such as hair fall control, shine and damage repair. The lead variant combines coconut milk with aloe vera, targeting the high-potential damage repair segment, while other variants incorporate natural ingredients such as rosemary, amla, shikakai, and almond. As per Marico, this launch marks the company's most significant category extension in recent years, translating Parachute Advanced's strong coconut equity into a hair cleansing format.
The portfolio launches with eight variants across multiple pack sizes, with an accessible entry sachet priced at ₹1. The SKUs are available in 80ml, 170ml, 340ml, 650ml, 1L and 1.2L pack sizes across general trade, modern trade and e-commerce channels. The entry sachet pricing strategy is designed to enable widespread trial and accelerated scale-up of the new product range, supporting the company's distribution network and marketing capabilities. As per Marico, this pricing approach aims to drive trial and accelerate scale-up of the new product range.
The launch targets India's shampoo market estimated at more than ₹10,000 crore and continues to grow at 9-10% annually. By entering the segment under the Parachute Advanced brand, Marico aims to tap into a large consumer base while increasing the brand's relevance across the broader hair-care routine. Ashish Goupal, CEO – India Core Business, Marico Limited, stated that the launch reflects the company's commitment to purposeful, coconut-led innovation and noted that the entry into hair cleansing unlocks a sizeable growth opportunity. The company expects the shampoo portfolio to be a key contributor to Parachute Advanced's overall growth, positioning it to tap into a segment where premiumisation is accelerating rapidly.
