LTM announced that it is leading the deployment of Microsoft 365 Copilot across the L&T Group, driving one of India's largest enterprise AI workplace transformations. As part of this enterprise-wide rollout, L&T is enabling Microsoft 365 Copilot for ~1,40,000 employees across the group, with LTM leading the transformation. The initiative is empowering teams to work more productively, resolve issues faster, and deliver superior customer outcomes through AI-assisted workflows, decision-making, and collaboration. As the largest adopter of Microsoft 365 Copilot within the L&T Group, LTM has already demonstrated significant business impact. Its AI-powered assistant, RAIma, has delivered a 70% improvement in IT and HR query resolution, while increasing employee engagement and HR productivity by 15%. Additionally, more than 23,000 developers use AI tools daily, supported by a network of over 1,300 AI experts and enablement leads. LTM will spearhead deployment through Microsoft 365 Copilot–supported solutions: Agent A.S.K. (Agent for Stories and Knowledge) for sales and RAIma. A.S.K. is a conversational AI tool that accelerates sales by reusing existing content, while RAIma delivers personalised, conversational HR support via chat and voice. The company has worked closely with Microsoft to scale AI adoption and shape global best practices for enterprise deployments, with over 90% of its workforce trained in GenAI, embedding AI across onboarding, learning, delivery, sales, and support.
CEO Venu Lambu told Reuters that LTM expects AI revenue to grow faster than its traditional IT services business as enterprise adoption accelerates, with demand rising for deployment of advanced AI models from Anthropic and OpenAI. The company disclosed its AI revenue for the first time - $150 million on a quarterly run-rate basis, or 12% of total revenue, across three AI-native businesses where AI is designed as a core component from the ground up. According to Business Standard, LTM posted a 6.1% year-on-year rise in first-quarter revenue and expects enterprise AI adoption to accelerate in the second half of fiscal year 2027. Larger peer HCLTech reported advanced AI revenue of $171 million in the June quarter, about 4.6% of overall revenue. Lambu noted that "pretty much all" deals have an AI component, with projects starting small but multiplying once customers see proof points.
LTM will scale its AI1000 initiative to train and deploy thousands of Claude-certified architects and Forward Deployed Engineers who will work with clients from assessment and architecture units. According to the latest exchange filing, the second strategic initiative focuses on expanding the AI1000 talent programme, under which LTM will train and deploy thousands of Claude-certified architects and Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) to support customers from assessment and architecture to implementation and continuous improvement. Against a global supply of 'few thousands' of forward-deployed AI engineers, 1,000 represents a meaningful market position. The company achieved at least 1,100 in the first quarter with plans to explore opportunities to accelerate faster. LTM's ₹150 million quarterly run rate from the three types of AI work demonstrates the commercial viability of their AI capabilities.
The market responded positively to LTM's strategic partnership announcement, with LTM shares gaining over 4% on Monday, trading 4.03% higher at ₹4,200 in afternoon trade. According to Moneycontrol, Axis Securities reiterated its positive stance on the stock, maintaining a 'BUY' rating with a revised target price of ₹4,560 per share, implying an upside of about 9% from the current market price of ₹4,200. The brokerage highlighted that margin expansion continues with Q1FY27 EBIT margin at 15.5%, improving by 40 bps QoQ and 120 bps YoY, despite wage hike impacts. Management attributed the margin improvement to benefits from the New Horizons cost optimisation programme (fit4future). On business momentum, Axis Securities noted that total inflows stood at $1.7 billion, remaining stable on a sequential basis, with the order book including two outcome-based AI implementation wins for their BlueVerse Voicing SLM platform. The partnership positions LTM to capitalize on the broader AI deployment phase, where demand for engineers who can translate AI capability into actual business outcomes continues to outpace supply, creating significant market opportunities for specialized service providers.
