Larsen and Toubro has secured significant infrastructure orders worth ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore in India, according to reports from CNBC TV18 and Business Standard. The orders were won by the company's public spaces, airports and health business vertical, with L&T classifying orders in this range as 'large' projects. The wins include projects for the Central government in New Delhi and the Andhra Pradesh government in Amaravati, highlighting L&T's strong track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects.
The first order from the Central Public Works Department involves construction of the Central government's Common Central Secretariat buildings 4 and 5 along Kartavya Path in New Delhi. As reported by CNBC TV18 and Business Standard, the project will be implemented on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis and comprises two buildings with a configuration of basement, ground and seven floors. The total built-up area spans 32.8 lakh square feet, with L&T's scope including structural, architectural, MEP and external developmental works. The project is scheduled for completion in 24 months, followed by a five-year operation and maintenance period.
The second order from the Andhra Pradesh government involves construction of two office towers on either side of the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre at Amaravati. According to CNBC TV18 and Business Standard, the proposed towers are configured as basement, ground and 47 floors, covering a built-up area of 37.5 lakh square feet. The order is classified as a design and build project, with L&T's scope including shell and core works. The project is scheduled for completion in 30 months.
Taken together, the two projects will cover approximately 70.3 lakh square feet of built-up area across four buildings, significantly expanding L&T's government infrastructure portfolio. The latest orders add to L&T's project execution pipeline as the company continues to secure infrastructure orders across domestic and international markets. The Mumbai-headquartered engineering conglomerate operates across EPC projects, high-tech manufacturing, products and services, with operations spanning multiple geographies.
Shares of Larsen & Toubro were trading 0.5% higher at ₹3,679.1 following the order announcement, as reported by CNBC TV18. However, the stock remains down 10% so far this year. Earlier this month, L&T's power transmission and distribution business won multiple EPC orders worth ₹10,000 crore to ₹15,000 crore, also classified as 'mega' projects. The company is set to report its September quarter results on October 27, 2026.
