
Ravi Pandit, the co-founder and long-time Chairman of KPIT Technologies Ltd, passed away on Friday, 8 May 2026, in Pune. According to reports from Live Mint, KPIT Technologies confirmed the news of his passing in an exchange filing, though they did not mention the cause of his death. The company stated: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of our Founder and Chairman of the Board, Mr. Ravi Pandit on the morning of 8th May 2026." The formal regulatory disclosure was submitted to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd, and was signed by Chief Financial Officer Priyamvada Hardikar.
As reported by Live Mint, Ravi Pandit was a prominent Indian entrepreneur and technology visionary, best known as the co-founder of KPIT Technologies. He was a gold-medalist Chartered Accountant and an alumnus of MIT's Sloan School of Management. His unique blend of business and scientific knowledge earned him an election as a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA). He also held honorary doctorates from Coventry, Amity, TVM, and EMB Universities.
According to Live Mint, Pandit started KPIT Technologies in 1990 alongside Kishor Patil. Under his leadership, the company transitioned from a general IT consulting firm into a global specialist in automotive and mobility software. Today, the company operates in 15 countries, and its engineering solutions power millions of vehicles across the US, Europe, and Asia. Alongside his tech ventures, Pandit also chaired Kirtane & Pandit Chartered Accountants (KPCA), building it into one of India's largest professional services firms.
For the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026, KPIT Technologies reported consolidated revenue of ₹17.1 billion, reflecting a growth of 12.0% year-on-year and 5.8% quarter-on-quarter compared to ₹16.17 billion in the previous quarter. The company also reported a constant currency growth of 1.8% on a quarter-on-quarter basis. Consolidated net profit for Q4 came in at ₹1.63 billion, up from ₹1.3 billion in the preceding quarter. For the full fiscal year 2025-26, the company reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹64,549.31 million, compared to ₹58,423.45 million in the previous year, with profit standing at ₹6,373.70 million.
In a significant move to expand its portfolio, KPIT Technologies approved the acquisition of a strategic stake in Cymotive Technologies LTD, an automotive cybersecurity specialist headquartered in Israel. The total consideration for the acquisition is estimated at USD 60 million to USD 120 million, with an initial upfront investment of USD 10 million in Preference Capital. The transaction is expected to close by mid-June 2026, with the deal requiring merger control filings in Germany and Austria. The company also announced a final dividend of ₹5.25 per share (52.5%) for fiscal year 2025-26, subject to shareholder approval at the Annual General Meeting. For FY27, KPIT has guided an EBITDA margin in the range of 20.5% to 21.2%, reflecting increased investments in AI, Products & Solutions, competency development, and new market development.
