KPIT Tech shares gained over 4% in early trade on Wednesday, July 29, reaching ₹627.70 ahead of their June quarter results announcement. According to The Economic Times, the stock climbed 4.20% to this level, building on earlier gains that had already pushed the stock up 13.25% for the week. The positive momentum came amid broader strength in the Indian IT sector, with investors renewing interest in technology stocks, creating a supportive environment for companies across the sector. However, the stock remains down 45% for the year, indicating significant challenges despite recent positive momentum, with over 48.4% decline over a year and over 45.9% decline in 2026 itself.
According to street estimates, KPIT Technologies is expected to post revenue of ₹1,691.5 crore for the June quarter. The company had highlighted on July 1 that it expects US Dollar revenue for the quarter to decline by 1% on a year-on-year basis, citing a sudden drop in revenue over the last few weeks due to recent profit warnings and deteriorating business outlook at multiple OEMs. The management clarified that the slowdown was not anticipated earlier and has materialized only recently. As per latest reports, net profit is projected to come in at ₹163.8 crore for the quarter, providing investors with a clearer picture of the company's operational performance during the quarter. Looking ahead, management indicated that Q2FY27 revenue is expected to remain in a similar range to Q1FY27 revenue.
As per street estimates, EBITDA is estimated at ₹322.7 crore with an EBITDA margin of 19.5% for the quarter. The company had also warned of its Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter and net profit margin for the quarter to decline sequentially. Management indicated that there is limited room for cost optimisation and this represents a short-term phenomenon that could accelerate outsourcing by clients. The current trading price of ₹627.70 puts the stock at a price-to-earnings multiple of 24.47 times, with a market cap of ₹17,362.9 crore as at the end of the previous trading session.
As reported by The Economic Times, 40 lakh shares of KPIT Tech had changed hands in a large transaction on the Bombay Stock Exchange ahead of the results announcement. The technical outlook shows the 14-day RSI at 48.9, indicating a neutral momentum zone, with the stock continuing to trade below key medium- and long-term moving averages, highlighting a bearish trend structure. Investor attention remains focused on the company's quarterly performance, with market participants keen to assess revenue trends, operational execution, and management's outlook for the coming quarters. Beyond headline financial figures, investors will closely track management commentary on demand trends, client engagements, growth drivers, and the company's strategy to navigate near-term challenges while capitalising on future opportunities.
