According to reports from Business Standard, Jonjua Overseas has executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Anjali Sharma, a lady entrepreneur based in Rampur BSR, Himachal Pradesh. The agreement was signed on August 11, 2026, and marks a strategic expansion into aviation infrastructure in the Himalayan region. The Private Rooftop Helipad will be strategically located on the roof of a seven-storey hotel project being developed by Sharma near the National Highway, targeting improved connectivity for tourism, emergency services, and local economic activities.
The project is being led by Major Harjinder Singh Jonjua, the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Jonjua Overseas Limited, who brings 48 years of experience in designing and developing helipads and STOLports in remote and border areas. He holds a B.Sc., MIE, and C.Eng. qualifications and possesses specialized expertise in aviation engineering. The company has constituted a two-member team to oversee the development, comprising Major Harjinder Singh Jonjua and Mr. Harmanpreet Singh Jonjua, a Director at the company who is also a co-patent holder for a STOLport design. This initiative aligns with the company's broader focus on aviation projects, including its existing ventures like GNS Airways SA in Cameroon and Jonjua Air Limited.
According to the latest reports, the proposed development and operation of the Private Rooftop Helipad shall be subject to all applicable statutory, regulatory, aviation, safety, environmental, local authorities and other requisite approvals, permissions and clearances from the competent authorities. The company has emphasized that obtaining all requisite approvals from competent authorities is a critical requirement for project execution. The MoU outlines cooperation and facilitation between the parties for the development of the facility, with execution pending the completion of necessary regulatory approvals.
The disclosure was made pursuant to Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. Historical stock performance shows +19.05% returns over one month and -48.85% returns over five years, reflecting the company's diversification into aviation infrastructure. While the project remains in the preliminary agreement stage, material financial impact or revenue generation will depend on securing necessary regulatory approvals and completing construction. This initiative represents Jonjua Overseas Limited's intent to diversify its operational footprint into regional aviation infrastructure, addressing connectivity gaps in remote Himalayan regions.
