According to reports from ET Now, Jaro Education started operations in 2009 and was listed on September 30, 2025. The company has grown from an employee base of 20-30 professionals at inception to over 1,000 across India. Jaro Education is known for its partnerships with prestigious institutions including IIM Ahmedabad, XLRI, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, Symbiosis, and its association with Vikrant Massey. CEO Ranjita Raman moved from NetHR (a group company) to Jaro Education as a counsellor, initially working with around 20-30 counsellors and 4-5 leaders.
As reported by ET Now, when Jaro Education was founded, online education was not accepted among corporates or working professionals. The company initially faced rejection, with people believing online education was just recorded content without value. However, when COVID hit in 2020, acceptance of online education grew multi-fold, with corporates becoming more welcoming towards online degrees and certifications. Between 2020 and 2025, the business grew at a rate of 35-40%.
According to ET Now, a major turning point came around 2017-18 when Jaro Education started partnering with several institutions instead of just one. The company successfully convinced many institutions to adopt online education before COVID, building the complete ecosystem required to take their offline content online while ensuring quality was not compromised. Jaro Education started operations with Welingkar Institute of Management and gradually expanded to work with some of the finest institutions globally.
As reported by ET Now, Raman noted that the current IPO market has experienced turbulence due to geopolitical challenges, which she believes is a broader business environment challenge rather than sector-specific. She emphasized that success and failure have come quickly for many EdTech companies over the last decade, with working discipline and financial discipline being crucial factors. Raman stated that businesses should focus on generating profits from the beginning and maintaining fundamental discipline to avoid difficult situations.
According to ET Now, Jaro Education is investing heavily in AI, using Agentic AI to provide better learner information and counselling experiences. The company is embedding AI into their Learning Management System to create a better learning experience where students can learn at their own pace. Raman emphasized that their objective is to improve efficiency through AI rather than create layoffs, with plans to scale with AI rather than replace people. The company is also using AI on their alumni platform Jaro Connect to offer small AI courses for continuous upskilling.
