
Jammu & Kashmir Bank Limited has announced the resignation of Dr. Pawan Kotwal, IAS, from his position as Non-Executive Non-Independent Director, effective January 1, 2026. The resignation follows his attaining the age of superannuation on December 31, 2025. Dr. Pawan Kotwal is a 1994 batch IAS officer of the erstwhile Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre of Indian Administrative Service and is presently serving as Chief Secretary, UT of Ladakh. Dr. Kotwal holds DIN 02455728 and formally communicated his resignation through a letter dated January 1, 2026, addressed to the Board of Directors.
During his distinguished career, Dr. Kotwal played a crucial part in bringing out crucial reforms and initiatives in the health and medical education sector. As Principal Secretary, he spearheaded efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure, enhance medical education facilities, and promote the wellbeing of the people of Ladakh. His accomplishments in the fields of forest, ecology, environment, and revenue are equally admirable, portraying his unflinching commitment to sustainable development and good governance throughout his administrative service.
The bank has informed both the National Stock Exchange of India Limited and The BSE Limited about this directorship change in compliance with Regulation 30 and 51 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. The bank has fulfilled its disclosure obligations under SEBI regulations by providing the requisite details as prescribed under Part A of Schedule III of the SEBI regulations and the SEBI Master Circular dated November 11, 2024. According to the latest filing, there are no additional disclosures required with respect to inter-se relationships or other listed directorships.
In his resignation letter, Dr. Kotwal stated that he was tendering his resignation "consequent upon my attaining the age of superannuation on 31st December, 2025" and requested that his resignation be accepted with immediate effect. The outgoing director expressed his appreciation to the Board, Management, and fellow Directors for their cooperation and support during his tenure, noting that "it has been a privilege to serve the Bank" and wished the institution "continued growth and success in the years ahead." The bank emphasized that the resignation is purely on account of superannuation.
