
Chennai-based Intellect Design Arena has announced a strategic partnership with one of India's largest e-commerce platforms serving a registered user base of more than 500 million users for its Purple Fabric Accounts Payable platform. According to the latest reports, this represents a significant contract win for the technology company in the competitive e-commerce sector. The e-commerce partner operates at massive scale, offering over 150 million products across 75+ categories and supporting a seller ecosystem of nearly 1.5 million merchants and partners. As per Intellect Design Arena, the platform aims to revolutionize the client's financial operations by shifting from task automation to autonomous, decision-led finance.
The selected platform serves a registered user base of more than 500 million, as reported by The Hindu BusinessLine. Intellect Design Arena stated that Purple Fabric will help the platform streamline workflows across its network of sellers and partners, eliminating manual bottlenecks and strengthening compliance while delivering cost efficiencies at enterprise scale. Industry estimates place the platform's Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) in excess of ₹1.5 lakh crore, with the platform processing over 7 million shipments in a single day. This environment presents significant challenges related to complex vendor reconciliations and payments that the Purple Fabric solution is designed to address.
The scope of services includes AI powered invoice processing, end-to-end workflow automation and regulatory compliance, according to the company's media release. The platform empowers the e-commerce leader through several core technologies: AI-Powered Invoice Processing utilizing advanced AI and Cognitive Data Graph (CDG) technology for high-accuracy data extraction from diverse invoice formats, minimizing manual intervention across high-volume seller transactions. End-to-End Financial Workflow Automation accelerates payout cycles and enhances vendor trust through intelligent multi-way matching and automated approvals in the AP process. The platform is built on First Principles Thinking and powered by Open Business Impact AI, enabling a shift from task-based automation to autonomous, decision-led financial operations with scalability through composable architecture and embedded security protocols for regulatory compliance.
