Homegrown fintech solutions firm Intellect Design Arena Ltd announced the deployment of its eMACH.ai Retail 6DX platform for OnCost, a Kuwait-based FMCG retailer, across its strategic branches on Thursday (April 16). According to reports from CNBC TV18, this deployment marks a shift to an AI-first, cloud-native retail operating model for the Kuwait-based company. OnCost, positioned as Kuwait's first wholesaler to open its doors to individual consumers, has transitioned from legacy systems to a microservices-led architecture through this implementation. As reported by ScanXNews, OnCost operates as Kuwait's first "Wholesale to Retail" supermarket, combining bulk-buy savings with traditional supermarket convenience, serving both individual households and businesses across its growing network of stores in Kuwait.
The platform has been rolled out across OnCost's store network to enable a next-generation in-store retail framework built around real-time responsiveness and customer interaction. As reported by CNBC TV18, the deployment replaces monolithic infrastructure with a cloud-native foundation designed to respond, learn and evolve with each transaction. The system provides access to over 30 customised analytics reports covering metrics such as hourly transactions, footfall and conversion rates, enabling data-led decision-making. The platform also supports rapid onboarding of new stores and staff training, allowing scalability without operational delays. According to ScanXNews, the comprehensive implementation includes POS Modernisation with cloud-native billing systems, AI-First Rewards featuring rule-based cashback programs analyzing customer patterns, and Real-Time Analytics with access to over 30 custom reports tracking transactions.
According to the report, the transition provides OnCost with a unified omnichannel environment integrating physical stores with digital touchpoints through a single data layer. The system enables real-time inventory visibility across branches, aimed at reducing stock mismatches and improving operational accuracy. The platform introduces high-speed, dual-screen point-of-sale systems to improve checkout throughput and customer engagement, along with API-led loyalty programmes allowing targeted campaigns and personalised rewards based on customer behaviour. As reported by ScanXNews, the implementation delivers Seamless Omnichannel Integration with a unified data layer bridging physical stores and digital touchpoints, Precision Inventory Management with real-time visibility of sales and stock levels across all branches, and Enhanced Checkout Velocity through high-speed POS deployment reducing wait times.
As reported by CNBC TV18, shares of Intellect Design Arena Ltd ended at ₹699.35, up by ₹9.75, or 1.41%, on the BSE following the announcement. The deployment comes amid rising consumer expectations and increasing digital adoption in the Kuwait retail market, positioning the company to capitalize on the growing demand for AI-powered retail solutions. According to ScanXNews, the successful AI-driven transformation at OnCost raises questions about potential accelerated digital adoption among other FMCG retailers across the Gulf region, and how Intellect Design Arena might leverage this Kuwait deployment to expand its eMACH.ai platform into other Middle Eastern markets. Rajan Thomas, Group CTO at OnCost, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "With eMACH.ai Retail 6DX, we have a platform that mirrors our ambition – deeply local, infinitely scalable, and intelligently connected. By eliminating operational complexity and delivering instant insights, we are now better equipped to serve the Kuwaiti community with agility and precision."
