Chennai-based Intellect Design Arena is transitioning from digital banking software to 'AI-First Banking' through its eMACH.ai platform, according to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine. The company is moving beyond traditional digital banking solutions to focus on enterprise AI, governance and explainability rather than standalone AI pilots. In its annual report for FY25-26, Intellect Design Arena noted that financial institutions are increasingly embedding AI across enterprise operations, creating significant opportunities across consumer banking, wholesale banking, payments, treasury, wealth management, insurance and enterprise AI sectors.
Despite macro uncertainties, banks globally are increasing spending on AI-native platforms, cloud migration, payments modernisation and core banking transformation, as reported by The Hindu BusinessLine. The company believes this increased spending will support long-term growth. Intellect Design Arena emphasized that within enterprises, AI adoption is shifting from experimentation to production with customers now prioritising measurable business outcomes, governance and explainable AI over standalone AI features. This trend aligns with the growing demand for fractional CTO services that provide executive-level technical expertise on demand, particularly for companies struggling with slow software releases, spiking development costs, or difficulties integrating emerging technologies like Generative AI into core workflows.
Intellect Design Arena posted revenue from operations of ₹3,038 crore for FY26 compared to ₹2,500 crore in FY25, according to the company's annual report. The company's consolidated profit after tax increased from ₹334 crore to ₹343 crore during the same period. In terms of vertical contributions, wholesale banking contributed 46% of FY26 revenue, consumer banking 35%, while wealth, insurance and AI contributed 17%.
The company's strategic emphasis on enterprise AI, governance and explainability reflects a shift from experimental AI implementations to production-ready solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, this approach aligns with the growing demand from financial institutions for AI solutions that can be integrated into core banking operations and demonstrate tangible returns on investment. The focus on fractional CTO services and technology leadership on demand addresses the need for executive-level technical expertise across various growth stages, from scaling engineering teams to implementing AI solutions and modernizing legacy systems.
