Insolation Energy shares surged 15% to hit a high of ₹124.75 on Thursday following the announcement of a significant contract award. According to reports from Business Standard, the company secured a contract worth ₹558.29 crore from NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC. The order involves the supply of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and is scheduled to be executed during the financial year 2026-27. The rally helped the stock snap a four-day losing streak during which it had declined around 6%.
As reported by Business Standard, the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and pertains specifically to the supply of solar PV modules. Insolation Energy confirmed that the promoter group or group companies have no interest in the awarding entity and the order does not fall under related party transactions. The contract value of ₹558.29 crore includes GST. The company is primarily engaged in manufacturing solar panels under the brand name of INA, with operations spanning design, installation, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
According to Business Standard, Insolation Energy demonstrated robust financial performance in Q4 FY26. The company's consolidated net profit jumped 64.8% to ₹69.84 crore on a 100.1% rise in revenue from operations to ₹793.93 crore compared to Q4 FY25. This strong financial trajectory appears to have contributed to investor confidence following the major contract announcement. The company's market capitalisation stands at ₹2,712 crore with the stock trading at a P/E ratio of 13.5, significantly below the industry average of 23.5.
As reported by Business Standard, the stock's 29% year-to-date gains have significantly outperformed the benchmark Nifty50, which has declined 8% during the same period. The company currently has a market capitalisation of ₹3,151.64 crore and is trading around 23% below its 52-week high of ₹161.81, touched on April 28, 2026, but remains 56.42% above its 52-week low of ₹79 per share, recorded on March 30, 2026. The contract is expected to strengthen the company's order book and provide better revenue visibility over the coming quarters.
