Imagicaaworld Entertainment Limited has approved the sale of Novotel Imagicaa to Juniper Hotels Ltd (JHL) for ₹248 crore. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, a binding Memorandum of Understanding was signed with JHL in the first week of October 2026, signalling the company's intent to monetise non-core hospitality assets. The Mumbai-listed amusement and water park operator is focusing on its core entertainment business while divesting hotel operations, with the 287-key hotel in Khopoli being sold to optimise capital allocation toward core park assets. The company has not disclosed specific plans for deploying the ₹248 crore sale proceeds from the Novotel Imagicaa divestment.
The company reported a 6% year-on-year decline in footfalls for Q2 FY27, with consolidated attendance at its parks standing at 2.1 lakh compared to 2.25 lakh in the same period of the previous year. As reported by Business Upturn, this decrease was attributed primarily to adverse weather conditions, including heavy rains in July and August 2026, affecting key catchment areas. The monsoon season disruptions dragged Q2 FY27 visitor counts down to 2.1 lakh, highlighting the extreme seasonality challenges faced by India's theme park sector during the monsoon quarter. The company noted that Q2 is seasonally the softer quarter for outdoor parks, with the update issued on October 19, 2026, as a business update rather than a results release.
The company completed full conversion of 2,34,82,500 convertible warrants into equity shares after receiving the balance 75% subscription amount of ₹129.45 crore from promoters and identified non-promoter investors. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the warrants were issued at ₹73.50 apiece, and no warrants remain outstanding. The ₹248 crore hotel sale proceeds from the Novotel Imagicaa divestment will be deployed to pay down debt and fund core park expansions, strengthening the company's financial position for future growth initiatives. The company's full warrant issue was worth approximately ₹172.60 crore, of which about ₹43.15 crore came upfront at allotment.
In a strategic expansion move, Imagicaaworld acquired a 50% stake in Mehsana Next Parks Private Ltd for ₹50 crore, securing a 50% equity stake in the special purpose vehicle that owns and operates Shanku's Water Park in Mehsana. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the water park is located between Ahmedabad and Gift City, expanding the company's geographical footprint in Gujarat. This acquisition adds another water park to a portfolio that includes Imagicaa, WetnJoy, Sai Teerth and Aqua Imagicaa, with the ₹50 crore investment establishing a regional presence in the state.
Looking ahead to Q3 FY27, Imagicaaworld will launch its first Hello Park indoor entertainment venue at Lakeshore Mall in Hyderabad through its wholly owned subsidiary, Imagicaa Next Private Limited. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, this marks the company's entry into the indoor entertainment segment, diversifying beyond traditional outdoor amusement parks. The rollout of non-seasonal indoor family entertainment centers begins in Q3 FY27, with the initial Hello Park location scheduled to open in the current quarter, enhancing the company's indoor entertainment offerings and mitigating weather seasonality constraints. The company's move into indoor entertainment represents a strategic shift beyond outdoor parks, which are exposed to monsoon disruption such as the July and August rains that impacted Q2 FY27 performance.
