Gujarat Themis Biosyn shares climbed more than 4% in early trade on Monday, extending gains to around 40% over the past six months. According to reports from NDTV Profit, the stock was trading at ₹425 apiece on NSE, up from its previous close at ₹411.05. The positive market reaction occurred despite the benchmark index Nifty 50 being down 0.6% during the same period.
The company's Fund-Raising Committee approved the allotment of 2,11,86,440 equity shares at ₹354 per share to eligible qualified institutional buyers on August 28. As reported by NDTV Profit, the qualified institutions placement (QIP) opened on August 25 and closed on August 28. The issue price included a premium of ₹353 per share and represented a 4.98% discount to the floor price, with the discount amounting to ₹18.57 per share. The company raised a total of ₹749.99 crore through the issue.
Following the allotment, Gujarat Themis Biosyn's paid-up equity share capital increased from ₹10.89 crore to ₹13.02 crore, while the number of equity shares rose from 10.89 crore to 13.02 crore. According to NDTV Profit, the QIP has both positive and negative impacts for existing shareholders. On the positive side, the company has raised nearly ₹750 crore in fresh capital to support its financial requirements and future business plans. However, the increased number of outstanding shares results in dilution for existing shareholders.
Beyond Monday's gains, Gujarat Themis Biosyn shares have demonstrated strong momentum with a 20.08% increase over the past month. As reported by NDTV Profit, however, the stock remained marginally down by 2.4% in 2026. The positive market reaction suggests investors are focusing on the benefits of fresh capital and institutional participation despite the dilution impact on existing shareholders.
With the fundraise now completed, the key factor for the stock will be how effectively the company deploys the additional capital and whether it translates into stronger business performance. According to NDTV Profit, the fresh capital could strengthen the company's financial flexibility and provide additional resources for its business plans, with the participation of institutional investors supporting sentiment around the fundraise.
