Granules India Ltd announced on Friday, October 2, that it has incorporated a wholly owned foreign subsidiary, Triton Farmaceutica Do Brasil Ltda, in Brazil. According to the latest regulatory filing disclosed to the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) on October 01, 2026, the newly incorporated entity will operate in the pharmaceuticals industry and has not yet commenced its business operations. The subsidiary has been established to manufacture, promote, sell and distribute pharmaceuticals and other related products in Brazil, with the country's large and growing healthcare market presenting significant opportunities for Granules India to strengthen its international foothold.
As reported in the latest regulatory filing, the incorporation requires prior approval of the Reserve Bank of India under the automatic route. Upon incorporation, Triton Farmaceutica Do Brasil Ltda became a related party to Granules India. However, the company's promoter and promoter group do not have any interest in the newly incorporated entity, according to the filing details. The automatic route under RBI jurisdiction approves such international expansions without needing further governmental or regulatory clearances, demonstrating the streamlined process for overseas subsidiary establishment.
According to CNBC TV18, Granules India reported a 60% year-on-year rise in net profit to ₹180 crore for the June quarter FY27, compared with ₹112.60 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue grew 22% to ₹1,476 crore from ₹1,210 crore in Q1 FY26. EBITDA rose 37.4% to ₹339 crore from ₹246.5 crore, while the EBITDA margin expanded by over 300 basis points to 23% from 20.3% in the year-ago period.
This strategic move demonstrates Granules India's commitment to broadening its global presence and leveraging emerging global markets to enhance its market position and business growth. The Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company, known for its focus on broad-based active pharmaceutical ingredients and finished dosages, aims to strengthen its international operations through this Brazilian subsidiary. The company has stated that this incorporation aligns with its strategic expansion plans to further its business reach in the global pharmaceutical market.
