Two companies have announced record dates for their respective bonus share allotments this week. According to reports from NDTV Profit, Goldiam International Ltd. and Hindustan Insulators & Industries Ltd. have both set July 10, 2026 as their record date for determining eligible shareholders. A record date serves as the cut-off date fixed by a company to determine shareholders eligible to receive bonus shares, making it crucial for investors to monitor these dates closely.
As reported by NDTV Profit, Goldiam International will issue bonus shares in the ratio of 1:3, meaning eligible shareholders will receive one bonus share for every three existing shares. The company has set July 10, 2026 as the record date to determine eligible shareholders. To qualify for the bonus shares, investors must own shares before the ex-date, with the Indian equity markets following a T+1 settlement cycle requiring purchase at least one trading day before the record date. According to The Economic Times, today marks the final day for investors to buy shares to be eligible for the bonus issue, as shares must be credited to demat accounts by the record date. However, shares of the diamond jewellery maker appeared to fall 24% on Friday when they turned ex-bonus, but this decline was purely due to the bonus share adjustment. In reality, the stock gained more than 3% to trade at ₹325 after adjusting for the bonus issue, as seen at 10:15 AM.
According to The Economic Times, Goldiam International will issue nearly 4 crore shares amounting to ₹7.53 crore as part of the bonus issue, using its capital redemption reserves (CRR), securities premium account, free reserves, or retained earnings available as of March 31, 2026. On that date, the company's CRR stood at ₹5.67 crore, while the securities premium account balance stood at ₹196 crore and free reserves at ₹311 crore. The bonus shares will be credited by July 25, 2026, and while they increase the total number of outstanding shares, they do not change the company's market capitalisation. However, they can improve liquidity and affordability, allowing more investors to add the company's shares to their portfolios.
As reported by NDTV Profit, there is not much activity on the corporate actions front, especially in terms of bonus share issues. The announcement comes as the earnings season for the quarter ending June 30, 2026 is about to commence. According to The Economic Times, this marks the first bonus issue announced by Goldiam International in around 21 years, highlighting the company's strong financial health and growth prospects. The diamond jewellery maker has delivered 22% returns over one year and 227% returns over three years, with the company currently having a market capitalisation of nearly ₹4,784 crore. Notably, the company said it delivered a superior performance in FY26 despite US tariffs and volatile gold prices, demonstrating resilience in challenging market conditions.
