
Godrej Industries Group has set an ambitious target of managing ₹1 lakh crore in assets under management (AUM) in its wealth management business over the next five years, as reported by NDTV Profit. Chairperson Designate Pirojsha Godrej described the group's entry into wealth management as a "logical step," citing strong demand for such services in India. The conglomerate also plans to enter the asset management space in the coming years as part of its broader financial services strategy, with the group intending to gradually build out its financial services platform over the coming years.
To support its ambitious growth plans, Godrej Industries Group announced it will infuse ₹7,000 crore of capital into its financial services businesses, as reported by NDTV Profit. The company's board had previously approved raising up to ₹1,500 crore via issuance of unsecured non-convertible debentures (NCDs), bonds or other instruments on a private placement basis, and an investment of up to ₹1,000 crore in its wholly-owned subsidiary Godrej Investment Ltd, subject to shareholder approval. Additionally, the group is aiming to list Godrej Capital within the next five years as part of its broader financial services expansion strategy.
The company reported robust fourth quarter earnings with consolidated net profit more than doubling to ₹444 crore for the quarter ended March, compared to ₹183 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. As reported by NDTV Profit, revenue during the quarter increased by 33.1% year-on-year reaching ₹7,694 crore. Operating income rose 96.6% year-on-year to ₹1,165 crore, with the Ebitda margin expanding to 15.2% from 10.3% in the year-ago period, demonstrating strong operational performance across key metrics.
Shares of Godrej Industries settled 2.80% lower at ₹1,061.30 apiece on the NSE on Tuesday, compared to a 0.60% advance in the benchmark Nifty index, as reported by NDTV Profit. The stock had previously declined 3.2% to hit an intraday low of ₹1,056.5 apiece on Tuesday (June 2), despite the company's strong financial performance. However, the stock has gained 9.7% in the past month, indicating positive longer-term investor sentiment despite recent market volatility.
Alongside its financial services push, Godrej Industries Group reported that Godrej Properties is likely to register around ₹39,000 crore in new bookings in FY27 and plans to launch several new projects during the year, as reported by NDTV Profit.
