The Federation of Automobile Dealers' Association (Fada) has signed an initial agreement with Rosmerta Digital Services to simplify vehicle compliance processes through technology. According to reports from Business Standard, this partnership aims to provide dealers and customers with a reliable digital platform to check and resolve traffic violations. The collaboration introduces Rosmart, a compliance services platform available through Rosmart.com, where citizens can access challan-related services and address pending traffic violations. As per ETAuto, the partnership was officially announced on Monday with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two organizations, with the agreement formalized at FADA's 8th Auto Retail Conclave in New Delhi. Saharsh Damani, CEO of FADA, emphasized that dealers are often the point where unresolved compliance issues surface, particularly during vehicle exchanges, sales, or transfers. He noted that the partnership aims to provide dealers and customers access to a credible, convenient and technology-enabled platform that can make compliance 'simpler, safer and more transparent'.
Through the platform, dealers can upload cases in bulk or assist customers directly, while customers can visit Rosmart.com or access the service by scanning a QR code available at participating dealerships and customer touchpoints. As reported by Business Standard, the need for a reliable platform has become increasingly important with the proliferation of unauthorized websites and online intermediaries claiming to facilitate traffic challan payments or clear pending violations. Such platforms can expose citizens to the risk of fraud and cybercrime. According to ETAuto, the platform is particularly aimed at simplifying compliance during pre-owned vehicle transactions, where pending challans from different cities or states can complicate the sale or transfer process. The dual approach is intended to reduce delays during vehicle transactions and give dealers a more efficient way to support customers when compliance issues arise. For customers, it provides a more convenient way to check and address challan-related requirements online, without having to navigate multiple touchpoints.
Hariansh Nagpal, President of Rosmerta Digital Services, stated that the platform was developed to make everyday automotive processes easier for customers and help them access challan-related services through a single digital destination. According to ETAuto, the MoU will allow Rosmart to be extended across FADA's automotive retail network. Sai Giridhar, President of Fada, emphasized that compliance is an important part of the vehicle ownership journey, and pending traffic challans can often become a major hurdle, particularly in the pre-owned vehicle business. He added that the association with Rosmart would provide dealers and customers with a technology-enabled platform to make compliance 'simpler, safer and more transparent' while enabling dealers to better support customers throughout the vehicle ownership journey. Ravi Krishnamoorthi, Group President of Rosmerta Technologies, highlighted that the initiative addresses the growing challenge of unauthorized websites and intermediaries claiming to help citizens clear traffic challans, which can expose citizens to fraud and cybercrime.
Rosmerta Digital Services Limited, part of the Rosmerta Group, builds technology-led solutions for India's automotive and mobility sector. The Group has supplied more than 170 million High-Security Registration Plates, making it India's largest and the world's second-largest HSRP manufacturer, and has issued over 150 million driving licences and registration certificates across more than ten states and union territories. FADA, founded in 1964, is the apex national body representing India's automobile retail industry, covering the sale, service and spares of two- and three-wheelers, passenger cars, utility vehicles, commercial vehicles, wheeled construction equipment and tractors. The association represents over 15,000 automobile dealerships having more than 30,000 dealership outlets including multiple associations at regional, state and city levels. Together, FADA India employs approximately 5 million people at dealerships and service centres and actively networks with industries and authorities at central and state levels to provide inputs on auto policy, taxation, vehicle registration procedures, road safety and clean environment.
Under the collaboration, dealers can offer customers support at a time when compliance issues may otherwise slow down a transaction. As reported by Business Standard, the platform currently brings together compliance services for citizens and dealers, with more citizen-centric services and service providers expected to be onboarded to the platform over time. The Memorandum of Understanding with FADA will help extend Rosmart across the automotive retail network, bringing the service closer to dealers and vehicle owners. According to ETAuto, Rosmerta Digital Services indicated that additional citizen-centric services and service providers are expected to be added to the platform over time. The initiative reflects the growing opportunity to use technology to simplify everyday processes that form part of vehicle ownership, with the platform designed to make compliance less of a hurdle and more of a seamless part of the vehicle ownership journey.
