Despite the rise in EBITDA, the operating margin remained flat at 11.60% on a year-on-year basis, reflecting limited change in cost structures. The figure was marginally ahead of the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹466 crore, with the margin beating Street's expectation of 10.90%.
Following the earnings announcement, shares of Exide Industries Ltd. were trading 0.47% higher at ₹322.35.
