According to Business Standard, the stock movement reflects positive market sentiment toward the company's expansion into the European Economic Area market. The partnership represents a significant strategic move that is already generating investor interest in the company's growth prospects in the European industrial battery segment.
Exide Industries and ExCom Energy Solutions GmbH (ExCom GmbH), Germany, have entered into a long-term strategic cooperation agreement for industrial battery and energy storage systems across the European Economic Area (EEA). According to reports from Business Standard, the agreement was signed on 15 September 2026, establishing a close commercial and technical collaboration between the two companies. The partnership will focus on traction and motive-power battery solutions serving material-handling equipment, logistics operations, and other industrial mobility applications, as well as stationery battery systems for industrial, infrastructure and energy storage applications.
Under this cooperation, products will be marketed and sold under the ExCom brand, as reported by Business Standard. ExCom GmbH will act as the central commercial and technical interface for customers in the EEA region, leading customer development, distribution, technical project support, and after-sales coordination. The partnership represents a significant expansion of Exide Industries' presence in the European market through this established German energy solutions provider, positioning the company to capture high-margin European industrial and stationary power demands through an asset-light B2B distribution model.
The cooperation covers the EEA market and establishes a comprehensive commercial framework for both companies. As reported by Business Standard, ExCom GmbH will handle the entire customer lifecycle from initial development through distribution and ongoing support. The agreement establishes a close commercial and technical collaboration designed to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of solutions, including battery systems, charging technologies, system integration, application engineering, and lifecycle services. Products will be tailored to meet specific technical, regulatory, and operational requirements of customers throughout the EEA region, with ExCom GmbH serving as the principal commercial and technical interface for EEA customers, establishing a direct market bridge for Exide's industrial batteries which previously relied on traditional export channels.
