According to reports from Moneycontrol, ESDS Software Solutions is currently trading at a premium valuation despite strong growth levers emerging in the market. The company operates across multiple technology segments including cloud infrastructure, data centres, managed IT services, and software, positioning it as a diversified technology solutions provider in the competitive IT services market. However, recent market performance shows volatility with the stock experiencing two consecutive days of 5% lower circuit trading on September 28, following disappointing quarterly results.
For the June quarter, ESDS Software Solutions reported challenging financial results that fell significantly short of market expectations. The company experienced a 20% revenue drop on a sequential basis, while profitability declined by 56.7% from the previous quarter. According to CNBC TV18, the company's profitability of ₹29 crore was well below the Choice Broking estimate of ₹250 crore, highlighting the substantial gap between actual performance and analyst expectations. During the earnings call, management attributed some of the quarterly challenges to a one-off design services revenue booked in a subsidiary during Q4 FY26.
The market was anticipating significant revenue contribution from the Australia deal, but management provided an updated timeline that has disappointed investors. As reported by CNBC TV18, the Australia deal date has slipped by a month and a half and is now expected by the first week of November, with revenue accruing from the third quarter of FY27. This revision from the expected September timeline has contributed to the stock's recent decline and raised concerns about the deal's contribution to near-term growth prospects.
Despite recent volatility, ESDS Software Solutions had experienced remarkable growth in its early market life. According to CNBC TV18, shares had surged more than 4x from its issue price of ₹429 in just a few days of listing, taking its market capitalization past the ₹20,000 crore mark. However, the stock is now trading at ₹1,672.5, down 5% following the disappointing quarterly results. Choice Broking has downgraded the stock from a 'buy' to 'sell' rating while maintaining its price target at ₹1,550. The brokerage has also revised its FY27 revenue expectations downward to ₹1,876 crore from its earlier estimate of ₹2,263 crore, citing the delayed Australia deal contribution and lack of current or next financial year guidance.
