Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited has officially announced its distribution agreement with Roche on Monday, March 2, to distribute select nephrology and transplant care products in India. According to the exchange filing, the agreement will be effective from April 1, 2026. Under the arrangement, the company will distribute Roche's established and globally recognised brands in the nephrology and transplant segment across India. As reported by BW Online Bureau, this strategic partnership aims to step toward expanding patient access to critical therapies in chronic kidney disease (CKD), anemia management and transplant care across India.
The agreement includes CellCept, a globally leading immunosuppressant and original Roche innovation that has been supporting organ transplants worldwide since 1995. Additionally, the portfolio covers Mircera and Neorecormon, proven therapies for anemia in chronic kidney disease. Mircera is a long-acting erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) with dosing flexibility of once every two to four weeks. According to BW Online Bureau, this collaboration aims to improve patient access to proven therapies while supporting better anemia management and long-term outcomes for patients with CKD and transplant needs.
Satish Mehta, Managing Director and CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, stated that the partnership is a natural extension of Emcure's commitment to improving outcomes in anemia and renal care. He emphasized that together, they aim to expand access to these critical therapies and support physicians in delivering optimal care to patients across India. Rajji Mehdwan, Managing Director and CEO of Roche India & Neighbouring Markets, commented that they are pleased to partner with Emcure, a company with deep expertise and leadership in anemia management and nephrology. He highlighted that through Emcure's strong distribution network and clinical engagement, these medicines can reach a larger number of patients who can benefit from Roche's long-standing innovations in transplant and CKD care.
According to BW Online Bureau, Emcure is a market leader in anemia management and together with its subsidiaries, has a strong presence across nephrology and chronic kidney disease segments. The company, along with its subsidiaries, has an existing presence in anaemia management and nephrology, and said Roche's portfolio complements its current offerings. This strategic alignment enables Emcure to expand its portfolio and bring these important medicines to a wider cross-section of patients across the country. The collaboration enables Emcure to leverage its established market position while expanding access to proven therapies in critical care segments.
