Homegrown FMCG firm Emami Ltd reported an 11.72% decline in consolidated profit after tax at ₹143.17 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2026, compared to ₹162.17 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. According to the company's regulatory filing, consolidated revenue from operations stood at ₹925.1 crore as compared to ₹963.05 crore in the year-ago period. Total expenses during the quarter were ₹738.4 crore against ₹743.61 crore in the same period last year.
The company's international business declined by 5% during the quarter, primarily due to the West Asia conflict which impacted shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, disrupted supply chains and increased freight costs. As reported by Business Standard, this geopolitical development significantly affected international operations, particularly impacting the company's business momentum in March 2026.
Emami Vice-Chairman and MD Harsha V Agarwal attributed the quarterly challenges to temporary external headwinds, including unfavourable seasonal conditions affecting the summer portfolio and geopolitical disruptions in West Asia. According to the company statement, the resilience of the core domestic business remained evident, with the non-summer portfolio delivering healthy 11% growth. The management termed the challenges as a passing phase rather than a structural concern, expecting business momentum to improve progressively in coming quarters.
For the complete financial year FY26, Emami Ltd reported consolidated PAT of ₹775.26 crore compared to ₹802.74 crore in FY25, while revenue from operations was ₹3,779.51 crore versus ₹3,809.19 crore in the previous fiscal year. The board of directors declared interim dividends aggregating to ₹10 per share, amounting to a total payout of ₹436.5 crore during FY26.
Looking ahead, Emami Ltd Vice Chairman and Whole-Time Director Mohan Goenka expressed optimism about early trends in Q1FY27, particularly across the summer portfolio. According to the company statement, this improvement is supported by expanded distribution, focused media investments and stronger trade activation. The management expects the business momentum to continue improving progressively in the coming quarters despite the current challenges.
