Bhopal-based Dilip Buildcon reported a 50.7% year-on-year decline in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) attributable to owners of the company to ₹113 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared with ₹229 crore in the year-ago period. According to reports from CNBC TV18 and Business Standard, consolidated revenue from operations fell 9.3% year on year to ₹2,377.8 crore from ₹2,620.3 crore in the first quarter of FY26. However, on a sequential basis, the company showed improvement with PAT surging 82.03% from ₹62.05 crore in Q4 FY26 to ₹113 crore in Q1 FY27. The company's financial performance shows mixed signals with good profit growth of 19.1% CAGR over the last five years, but also indicates challenges with poor sales growth of -2.44% over the same period.
The infrastructure company's consolidated operating margin stood at 18.05% in Q1 FY27, compared with 19.86% in the corresponding quarter last year. As reported by CNBC TV18 and Business Standard, consolidated EBITDA stood at ₹429 crore, with an EBITDA margin of 18.1% for the quarter. Total expenses fell 15.23% to ₹2,267.80 crore from ₹2,675.36 crore in Q1 FY26, while on a sequential basis, total expenses rose 2.56% to ₹2,267.80 crore from ₹2,211.26 crore in the preceding quarter. The company's financial performance shows mixed signals with good profit growth of 19.1% CAGR over the last five years, but also indicates challenges with poor sales growth of -2.44% over the same period.
According to CNBC TV18, Dilip Buildcon's engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business remained the largest contributor to its revenue, with gross revenue from the segment at ₹1,752 crore in Q1 FY27. Mining operations contributed ₹392 crore, while income from infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) stood at ₹34.77 crore. The company's mining activity included its Siarmal and Pachhwara coal mine developer and operator projects and the Pottangi bauxite mine developer and operator project. Income from its InvIT platform continued to support long-duration contracted cash flows. As of FY24, the company had an order book of approximately ₹17,400 crore versus ₹25,600 crore in FY22, indicating some contraction in recent years.
Beyond the quarterly numbers, the company said its consolidated order book stood at ₹27,691 crore as of June 30, 2026. As reported by CNBC TV18, it recorded fresh order inflow of ₹517.2 crore during the quarter, including a ₹268 crore EPC win. The order book excludes a ₹2,524.32 crore irrigation project won in Chhattisgarh in July 2026. The order book comprised roads and highways at 17.1%, irrigation and water at 18.1%, mining at 20.9% and other verticals at 43.9% as of June 30. The company's business model comprises EPC Projects & Road Infrastructure Maintenance (~93% in FY24 vs ~99% in FY23) and Annuity Projects & Others (7% in FY24 vs ~1% in FY23).
Chairman and Managing Director Dilip Suryavanshi highlighted that the quarter continued to reflect the company's 'DBL 2.0' strategy, which brings together its platform, three engines and 12 verticals. According to CNBC TV18, he pointed to the company's execution track record, saying it had completed close to 90% of its projects ahead of schedule over more than 35 years. The board also approved the proposed sale of stakes in under-construction power transmission and solar projects to Alpha Alternatives, with a combined project cost of approximately ₹8,400 crore. The company's financial metrics show some operational challenges with low interest coverage ratio and low return on equity of 7.67% over the last three years. Working capital days have increased from 77.8 days to 124 days, while debtor days have risen from 50.5 to 67.2 days.
